Racheals POV
I listened to his voice taking deep breaths as he cradled my face in his hands."Can you feel my touch?" he asked grazing his thumb on my cheek. I nodded as my breathing normalized.
"You're okay" he said pulling me into a hug. We stayed like that for a minute before he pulled us off the floor and placed me on the counter. The same counter lizzie sat on yesterday. I swallowed and forced those thoughts away. I don't need another panic attack.
He came back and handed me a glass of water. I took it and gulped the water in a go. I wheezed out a breath when I was done and placed the glass beside me.We stayed in silence each lost in our own thoughts.
"Was that your first time?" Vincent voice rang through the quiet apartment. I shook my head stiffly keeping my gaze on lap.
"Do they come often?" He asked. I looked up to find him already staring at me. "It happened only once when I was going through something" I said turning to stare out the kitchen window.
"I guess I'm not ready to come back" I muttered to myself and licked my chapped lips. He pushed himself off the counter he was leaning on and disappeared down the corridor before I could say a word.
He came back out a few minutes later with a bag on his hand and my laptop in the other. "What are you doing?" I asked with raised brows. "Go pack" he said slipping the laptop into the bag and zipped it up.
"Where are we going?" I asked confused. "We're leaving, you can't stay here" he said unplugging my charger from the socket by the wall and slipped it into front pocket of the bag.
"Why not?" He paused and turned to me. "You said it yourself you aren't ready to come back yet, this place is a trigger" so he heard me.
"Fine, but I'm not living with you. I've got somewhere else to go" I lied not wanting to depend on him.
"Where?" He huffed turning to face me "please tell me your parent live around" he said and I stayed quiet. My parents lived two hours away.
"Go pack" he said pulling out his phone and took a seat on the bar stool by the counter. I sighed and headed to my room trying not to let my gaze wander to the bathroom as I passed but I still caught sight of the yellow police tape at the front.
I pushed open my bedroom door and stepped in, not letting my gaze linger around the room as well and headed to the closet.
I brought down a small suitcase from the wardrobe packed up a few clothes and zipped it up.
"That wouldn't be enough" I looked up to see Vincent leaning on the door.
"What?"
"Those clothes won't be enough" he said as he's gaze wondered around the room.
"I'm only staying for a week" I said bringing out a smaller bag for my shoes.
"No you're not" he said making me look up to meet his gaze. He pushes himself off the door and approached me. He moved passed me to the wardrobe and brought out the biggest suitcase I had and placed it on the floor near me. He took a seat on the bed and stared at me. A stare that dared me to go against him.
I scoffed at him and continued arranging some of my shoes into the bag.
Before I knew what was happening He was off the bed and by my side. He unzipped the smaller bag and transferred the clothes from there into the bigger box.
I stood there gaping at him as he removed more clothes from the closet and stuffed them into the bag.
"No no no I'll pack" I said quickly when his hand reached out for my underwear drawer. He raised a questioning brow at me but stopped nevertheless and went back to his spot on the bed.
I went over to my dresser table at the corner of the room and packed up my makeup, jewelries and stuffed them in one of the zippers in the bag.
I grabbed a smaller bag out of the closet went into the bathroom packed my toiletries, zipped it up and placed it beside him. I packed up one more heel zipped up the bag along with the big suitcase and stood up straight with a huff.
"Happy?" I said turning my gaze to Vincent who was assessing my luggage.
"There's still clothes in the closet" he said gazing at the suitcase with a frown. I raised a questioning brow at him. "The suitcase is full" I said feeling accomplished about winning an argument with him.
" add another suitcase and pack them all " he quipped. "No way. this will do" I shook my head
"I'm not staying forever, I'll be back" I said. He stood up from the bed mumbling something incoherently under his breath grabbed two suitcases containing my clothes and shoes and exited the room. I grabbed the last bag off the bed and followed closely behind him.
I turned off the lights as I passed the hallways turned off the kitchen light grabbed my keys off the counter and walked out of the house locking the door behind me.
I turned around and headed straight to Vincent's car without giving the house another glance for fear of breaking down again.
I went over to my side of the car to see Vincent already standing there with the door open. I gave him a thankful smile and slipped in placing the small bag on my lap. He grabbed the bag off my lap and closed the door before I could protest.
I looked through the review mirror to see him opening the trunk and placing the bag in with the rest, he closed the trunk softly made his way around and slid into the drivers seat. He threw me a glance started the car and drove off.
