"You know if you wanna sing, ya can always audition to be a singer at my casino." Husk offered.
Angeldust smiled at the offer but didn't take it.
"Oh but, wouldn't my amazing il amichetto rig it for me so I don't even have to?" He said. He held onto Husk's suspenders gently.
Husk shook his head.
"That ain't how it works, Legs. Fair is fair." He stated, he snaked an arm around Angel's waist hugging him. Angel hugged back with four arms.
Angeldust groaned, he liked the idea but he wasn't sure mixing his love life with work was a good idea.
"I'll think about it." The spider assured.
Husk was at his casino all of his cash earnings would go into anything the casino needed. Repairs if any, alcohol for the bar if it was low. Whatever it needed. Everything else Husk would take to get a price and trade it all in for cash. He reminisced a memory he had with Angel here.
Husk snickered as he won a large pile of fortune.
"Read em and weep fellas." He swooped his earnings off the table and into his hat. Sending the money back home.
After his game, he walked around the 'house' or the main floor of the casino, watching the slots and the other games and keeping an eye on the cocktail waitresses that occasionally passed him, making sure nobody got grabby with them.
Cherribomb had left the apartment, she said she should be back before her first client showed up but they usually arrived early. She wrote the name of the client, what the buy and for how much onto a sticky note.
"Don't let them in, leave the chain lock on. Cash first, product later." He knew exactly what he was doing. And the "cash first." Part was something his father always said. He didn't know if he was still saying it with all these exterminations. He didn't really care if his father was around anyway. Not after what he did.
"Ain't my first drug deal babe. You know dat." The spider stated cutting his friend off before she left, with a thick accent.
She chuckled and left.
Cherri was right the demon came a whole hour early, just twenty minutes after she left. Angeldust unlock the doorknob and opened it as far as the chain would allow. Only his dark eye was visible.
"You Gary?" He asked.
The demon nodded. Angeldust shut the door and looked at the sticky note he opened the door again. "80." He stated.
The demon shuffled through his pockets and handed Angel four, 20 dollar bills. Angel shut the door again grabbed the baggie from the counter and opened the door again handing the demon the packaged substance. Then he shut the door and locked the knob again. He was glad he had the weekend off this week but next week he didn't and he was bummed about it.
He played with Fat Nuggets and one of his chew toys for a little bit then went into his room sitting on his bed. He opened the drawer to his night stand and pulled out a pill bottle. He popped three into his mouth and swallowed them without anything to wash it down.
Cherribomb finally got home after an hour. She thanked Angel for handling her business for her while she was out.
"Andre, Mia and Jordyn wanted hang out tonight you down?" She wondered.
The spider sighed. He missed his friends.
"You know Val would kill me if I-"
Cherribomb rolled her eye and crossed her arms.
"Last I checked, ya man can't tell me who I can invite to my apartment. Come on Angie they miss ya as much as I did."
Angel sighed no longer be able to argue. He assumed she meant going out but, leave it to Cherribomb to find all the loopholes.
"You can even ask Husk to join us if ya want." She suggested.
He shook his head. One hand ran through his hair, then he rubbed his face.
"I don't want him knowing I'm here."
Cherribomb groaned. She uncrossing her arms and wrapping one around Angel's shoulder. "We can tell everyone you're just here for the weekend. It'll be like old times! Com'on Angie we haven't hung out with all of us, in ages."
She unwrapped her arm around Angel and nudged him, as she spoke.
Angel sighed. He seemed nervous, he didn't want to bother Husk when he was working. The likelihood of him wanting to hang out after working on a Saturday was slim. He'd probably be exhausted.
"I don't know Cherri." He said rubbing his neck with one arm and hiding his face with two of his other hands. The high started hitting him. "he's probably busy. I'm still worried bout Va-"
She made an exasperated face crossing her arms and tilting her head.
"Oh fuck Valentino, he don't know where you are, he don't know who I am so, fuck he gonna do?" She blinked quickly since she can't wink when she only has one eye.
Angel groaned defeatedly, and laid back on his bed but his legs were still over the edge. He was over worried. The high didn't really help. He knew Cherri was right. The moth knew of Angel's friends but he NEVER introduced Valentino to any of them. Which was Cherri's first reason for not liking him. She knew Angel was hiding something. One day she came home from a night out, and she went to tell Angel she was home. She saw him in the process of covering up a black eye and she went ballistic.
Cherribomb she was on the boarder of Doomsday District and Imp city there was no way in hell Val would come out here even if, he knew where Angel was. He stopped worrying about it and sat up.
"Fiiiiiiiiiiiiine!" He groaned.
Cherribomb walked out of the room. Angel's door was open when she walked in so she left it open.
Angel laid on his bed. He grabbed his new phone with one hand. He finally set it up. He looked through his contacts thinking that, he still had Husk's number but, he didn't. He thought long and hard trying to remember the numbers. He was curled into fetal position his lower arms wrapped around his knees as he typed.
