The next day was a bit rough for both Husk and Anthony. The spider had a woken from several nightmares in the night but luckily, each time he woke up he realized he was with Husk and went back to sleep. It was now noon and they both had finished lunch so Husk made them each a bowl of cookies dough ice cream.

They were sat on the couch watching Anthony's comfort movie. The spider was wrapped in the fluffiest blanket Husk could offer.

"I'm sorry I ruined our Anni-" sniffled the spider before he took a bite of his ice cream. It was the first time he's spoke all day. Husk softly placed a hand on his shoulder that was covered by a blanket.

Husk's ears lowered and he frowned. "Hey! You didn't ruin anything. We had an amazing dinner, we watched a funny movie and we had a great time. And, technically that's not our anniversary anymore anyway." Husk assured.

Anthony nodded. He laid his head on Husk's shoulder and took another spoonful of his ice cream. "No. But it always will be, to me."

Husk chuckled quietly while, he ate his ice cream and they watched half of the movie in silence.

"Do you want to talk about it babe?" Husk wondered.

Anthony shrugged. He had wanted to, for a while and he never knew how. He was afraid of scaring or upsetting Husk. Though he knew the cat demon wouldn't be upset at him, he still didn't want Husk to be upset.

"I guess we should, huh?" He sighed nervously.

Husk looked at him, the spider's head still rested on Husk's shoulder. Anthony finished his ice cream.

"We don't have to if you-"

Anthony smiled and kissed Husk on the cheek.

"Dumbass once told me pretending I'm fine, doesn't make me fine. I want to be able to say that without lyin, dis time." He admitted.

Husk chuckled. Jordyn was helpful for once? Good for you, dumbass.

Anthony sat up so He could face Husk, and so Husk could face him.

"Dings were fine before, I gave him my soul. We weren't ever like, officially dating, until like six months prior to da deal. It was nice, genuinely believed he loved me. And that I loved him......I'm starting to think it was, whatever he put in my drugs that made me believe that." Anthony started.

Husk made very angry cat sounds. He basically growled. The detective/police officer in him HATED that he couldn't have protect Anthony.

"I signed that bullshit paper and everything was different. I lived with Cherribomb for a while until he begged me to stay at the apartments above the studio. Said he wanted more time with me. I was so stupi-"

"Hey!" Husk protested. He held Anthony's hand and rubbed the back of it with his thumb.

Anthony sighed. He didn't know how much he wanted to tell Husk. He looked down at his hands as he played with his fingers nervously.

"I was at de apartment for a year. Secon' half of dat time, I was away from everyone though, I didn't stay dere often because, Val had keys to all of them and could do anything he wanted because, I was technically still in the studio."

Husk nodded.

"I'll admit I liked the attention Angeldust got from being a pornstar, even before I was the most famous one. He says I'm the best but really, I was afraid to go missing, like the whores that dont earn as much as I do. So I do my best, even if it hurts." Anthony sniffled and wiped tears from his eyes before they could fall.

Husk's arm a wrapped around the spider comfortingly.

"It's okay to cry baby. You don't have to tell me all of it. I understand, if it's a lot. But I can promise you, I will do whatever I can to keep you safe." He assured.

Husk put his ice cream down on the coffee table. He was almost done with it anyway. The spider wrapped all size of his arms around the Cat demon he loved and took a moment to collect his thoughts. He sat up again and took a deep breath. It was a bit of a side tangent but he's never told anyone how he felt about his work.

"I kinda feel shitty cause, I set a pretty unrealistic goal for my coworkers and dey probably all hate me but, if I'm going to die, imma do it my way not because some pimp is pissed at me." Anthony chuckled awkwardly as he spoke.

Husk understood that. He felt the same way but towards the Exterminations. Though he wouldn't call them pimps. Well, he thought he understood. He wasn't suicidal like Anthony was but, he wasn't gonna die without a cause. He took his free hand and offered it to Anthony, who placed his hand in Husk's.

"The day you saved Fat Nuggets..... He was banging on my apartment door and screaming in Spanish, I don't know what he said but, I've heard him threaten the others in Spanish enough times to know, I had to get outta there." Anthony sighed.

More angy cat sounds emitted from the cat demon. He had no control over it due to how angry he was. He still listened to Anthony's story regardless, if he needed an listening ear, Husk was always there.

"First time Cherri wasn't the first place I ran to." He admitted.

That statement shocked Husk. He shook his head wondering if he heard that correctly. His ears perked up too.

"Saw there was a hotel it claimed to be free so I checked it out. Charlie shot the idea down cause in didn't want to be clean." Anthony lied. He couldn't admit he considered it.

Husk nodded. His ears were low. This shit went on for two years and Anthony just suffered silently?! No more. He told himself. He didn't believe Charlie would ever turn someone away.

"He's never gonna hurt you again." Husk stated. He retreated his arm from around the spider's shoulders. Placed both of his hands on either side of Anthony's face. He kissed his boyfriend's forehead before he spoke.

"I will do whatever I can to keep you safe. You don't even have to go back to work if you don't want to. Could I........." He sighed he knew this might cross a line for Anthony but, he wouldn't push if he says no.

"Could I see your deal?" He asked. His tone was calm though he was afraid it would startle Anthony.

Anthony looked down. He shook his head. He knew from his previous relationship with Husk that most overlords gave a copy of the deal to the souls the tale but,Val didn't.

"I don't have it. Val does." Was all he said. Husk's eyebrows furrowed.

The conversation ended their. They finished their movie and Husk finished his now partially melted ice cream. Anthony unswaddled himself from the blanket and laid on top of the cat demon just wanting the affection Husk never failed to provide.
