CHAPTER SEVEN:

I found Sera brushing her teeth while walking around the kitchen before I left for school. Seeing her reminded me of the impulsive thing I had done at the cafeteria which a part of me regretted doing, but what's done is done at this point. I stopped in front of Sera with a slight hesitation in my face, which caught her off-guard since it's early in the morning and I was already acting weird.

"Don't spit that on my face, okay..." I said, making Sera's eyebrows raise like a skyrocket. "I got you–uh, sort of, a date with Clyde this Saturday." I was stuttering while my eyes were wandering around, but when I heard Sera almost choking from shock it made me watch her run to the sink to spit everything. She immediately screamed after rinsing the toothpaste off of her mouth, "Paano? Anong sabi niya? Siya ba yung nag-aya? What happened?" She continuously asked while pacing back and forth, even flapping her hands from nervousness like she's a bird.

"Well, um, I lied to him which is not important." I said in a monotone voice, making her instantly turn around to face me with her eyes widening. "Parang importante siya, Aryn." Sera uttered, which only made me panic a little. "Look, I didn't mean to do it, okay... I was just upset with what happened with Markie and when I saw Clyde, I remembered what you said about him and it felt like I was being possessed or something–I made up a lie about how he promised to go to the movies with you while he was drunk as fuck at Kylo's welcome party–"

I kept talking without looking at her face, but when I realized how panicked she became my hands instantly held both of her arms to stop Sera from pacing back and forth even more. "But... hey, at least he said yes. I mean–do you really want to start this school year as Markie's friend from his point of view or be his actual friend now? You know, have an actual conversation with him that you thought about without searching on Google topics for a conversation that I initiated for the both of you?"

Sera stared at me for a few seconds without even blinking after hearing what I said. I took a deep breath before continuing my last attempt to convince her that this was a good idea, "Just, you know, think about what I did as Cupid's work." I said while acting out like I just shot an arrow at her but she still didn't blink. My eyes were squinting after realizing Sera froze from shock, but when I glanced at the time I knew I already had to leave. I still had some time to spare before my class started but I needed to do something important which I had been daydreaming about since last night.

I pressed my lips together before looking at Sera who still wasn't moving, "I'm gonna go to school now... sana pagbalik ko ng bahay mamaya napikit mo na yung mata mo." I said to excuse myself, but before I could even walk to the door I felt Sera's hands stopping me from walking away.

"I'm not condoning it, pero hindi ko rin tatanggihan ang blessings." Sera mumbled before jumping in to envelope me in a tight hug while whispering thank you in my ear. A small chuckle left my mouth from how silly her reaction was, but I was just thankful she didn't bash my head in the countertop for meddling in her non-existent relationship with Clyde.

I took a detour at The Hub to buy two coffees before walking to the school. I still had at least half an hour left when I arrived at NEU before my first subject started, which was great since I would need all the time I could get for what I was about to do. My hands were trembling while traversing to the third floor of the Architecture Building where Julian's first class will be. I could feel my palms sweating from the nervousness which wasn't helping since it made me overthink but after getting a glimpse of him inside the classroom, the nerves I was feeling suddenly disappeared.

My heart started pounding through my chest when our gazes met. Like a cliche romantic movie, it felt like the world started to spin slowly when Julian was walking towards the door where I was waiting for him to come. "Hey." I greeted him with a faint smile plastered on my face when I came to my senses. Julian was probably shocked to see me in front of him since the last conversation we had didn't end well.
