CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE:

My jaw dropped while my eyes got wider when my thoughts started forming possible reasons why Anton was in front of me, standing in my own house. He was holding a cup of coffee, sipping his drink slowly while looking at me with his forehead wrinkled. I tried to form proper words to not freak him out but I didn't have control over which word I blurted out. "What the fuck?" I said out loud, a vein nearly popped in my neck.

"Who are you?" Anton asked, his voice raised.

I pointed at myself. "Who am–huh, I'm the owner of the house, intruder. What are you doing here? Why did you come out of Markie's room? Do you even know her?" I continuously asked questions I deemed relevant in this situation without even blinking. The severity of this situation in my shoes probably did not register in his head given the way his expression changed from frowning to stifling laughter. At that moment my hand started curling into a ball, ready to smack some sense into him.

"I'm sorry." Anton apologized, but I know it wasn't sincere since he's mocking me by trying not to laugh during this serious situation. "If you have a problem, why don't you just ask Markie? She's the one who brought me here, so whatever your problem is... not my fault."

I felt like gagging from what I just heard. My eyes got even wider before my head tilted, "What did she do now?" I asked to clarify in case I'm going deaf over how idiot Markie is and her stupidity is affecting my ability to hear any logical reasoning.

Anton just shrugged before putting his left hand on his pocket while the other held his coffee closer to his mouth so he could loudly sip coffee–making me irritated even more. "Aryn, dumating na yung bills natin. Bibigay ko na lang yung share ko sa weekend pag natanggap ko na yung sahod–oh, uh... hello, guys. What's going on?" Shay went up the stairs, reading our bills statement at first without realizing there's a random stranger on the second floor of our house until she looked up.

"I have no idea and I really want to get some answers right now, so here's what's going to happen." I clasped my hands together before heaving out a sigh. "I'm going to talk to Markie to know what the fuck is going on inside that brain of hers, and you–Shay, please talk to her new fubu downstairs or throw him out of the house, it's your call I don't care."

"Me?" Shay pointed at herself, her head started shaking a little.

"I'm not her fubu–well..." Anton squinted his eyes for a second after saying well like he needed to have a clarification in his head about his relationship with Markie that made smoke come out of my nose. Shay was quick on her feet to notice my patience thinning out so she grabbed Anton to walk away, "I'm, uh, Shay. Nice to meet you... sorry, I didn't catch your name." Their voices started to mellow down as they descended down the stairs.

"Anton. I don't know why you look familiar. Maybe, I've seen you somewhere in Cebu before. I'm not really sure."

"Cebu? Wait, did you–" Shay said something but the sound of the door closing immediately followed, so I didn't hear the next words she said.

My glare could make a hole out of Markie's door while I was waiting for her to open it. I started calling out her name, knocking on her wooden door to get her attention without stopping. The door finally opened, revealing Markie removing wired earphones out of her ears while having the audacity to look confused. "Are you trying to break my door?" She asked while I stormed inside her room.

"So, an interesting thing happened." I pressed my lips, trying to have a calm composure. "I met a guy in the hall who came out of your room minutes ago. I mean... what the hell are you even thinking, Markie? You broke things off with Hiro yesterday and now there's some stranger in our house? You want to move on from him by flirting with other people, I get it! But why–does it have to be in our own home?"
