CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO:
Sometimes, I do think there's an invisible force that keeps pushing two people that are meant to have each other in their lives to meet no matter how big the world is. I thought after all the time that passed, Markie wouldn't cross paths with Sebastian ever again. That what happened in Cebu would stay in Cebu like a good memory that you look back on to laugh at. Yet here they are–facing each other once again like it was fate. There's so many questions running through my head as to why he appeared for their date instead of Anton, but I couldn't do anything about it since I'm only here to tail them.
"That's what Anton looks like?" Eric whispered as he tilted his head to the side. "Wait... I feel like I've seen him somewhere."
"Nope, not really Anton," I sighed, my eyes were stuck on Markie who looked like her mouth was about to fall off. "He was at the resort and the formal party last December. I've only seen him a couple of times but I can tell you... that Sebastian guy, definitely a player."
"Aah..." Eric started nodding his head while recalling the events from last month. "That's the guy who made out with my second cousin during the party." My eyes glanced quickly at Eric when the words that came out of his mouth registered in my brain. There was a moment in the party, if I still remember correctly, when he had lipstick on the side of his lips that Kylo noticed. Maybe that's what Eric was talking about, but if not then he definitely kissed someone else and who knows how many more during the time Sebastian was flirting with my friend as well.
While my brain was looking for specific memories during the party that's centered on Sebastian, I suddenly overheard Markie's loud voice asking him questions that I'm asking myself as well. "What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here, Anton's probably coming any second now. You'll annoy me to death before my date even starts." Our eyes both moved to watch Markie after she recovered from shock, yet the relationship between Anton and Sebastian hasn't even clicked on her head still.
Sebastian raised his phone up to show her something that looked like a messaging app from where I was standing. He shook his phone once while the other hand was comfortably tucked inside the pocket of his denim pants–the grin that I already know all too well plastered on his face showing that he's enjoying every second of this moment was making Markie fumed. Every hole on her ears and nose would undoubtedly end up blowing off a smoke from how angry she's getting. "Why are you on Anton's account? Are you some sort of, I don't know, a freaking hacker?" Markie asked, her blood pressure must be rising from stress of seeing Sebastian in front of her after being confident they'll never cross paths again.
"Relax, gorgeous." Sebastian turned off his phone before putting it onto his pocket. "Anton's my younger brother, we're two years apart. I had no idea you were flirting with each other until he told me about this stunning girl he's about to go on a date with, and when he showed me your picture I immediately recognized you."
"I know I'm pretty, but it's creepy that you immediately remembered who I was." Markie replied, a scoff got out of her mouth after saying this sentence. Sebastian clasped his hands forward, eyes squinted but just for a second, before his grin grew back on his lips. "I've seen plenty of pretty girls in my life, but you definitely won me over. Not really my fault if I can't forget your face."
Markie's jaw slightly dropped after hearing his response. My eyelids started fluttering before I heaved out a sigh. I couldn't believe what I just heard. "I have to tell you, he got that rizz." Eric crossed his arms out while watching the two we're spying on.
A snort came out before I tried stifling my laughter. "No, he doesn't."
Eric grabbed my shoulders to make me face him for a few seconds, immediately stealing my attention. "I've seen plenty of pretty girls in my life, but you definitely won me over." He repeated Sebastian's words, trying to imitate his smoothness but Eric has a different charisma than Sebastian. It's the same exact words said from the mouth of a player that I know came from a shallow place just to get Markie's heart, yet when it came out of Eric's lips it sounded different–more sincere and sweet. A genuine compliment rather than some words used for flirting. A sound wasn't coming out so I tried the non-verbal way to tell Eric not to do it again by shaking my head.
