CHAPTER THIRTEEN:

Flashes of memories came flooding in my brain–all those times I witnessed Sera being ignored by Clyde, or those short interactions they'd have during the earlier days when we first met him. He was cold, aloof, and not really interacting with us at all. He was just there to help his sister move in. Yet, those cold eyes of his was enough for my friend to swoon over him. That was their whole relationship in these three years Sera and I have been living together; her world revolved around him, but she was just his sister's friend.

It's like the universe changed their plans towards Sera and Clyde now as I watched my friend's jaw slowly drop when Shay told her to come downstairs and to her surprise, Clyde is waiting for her. With trembling knees, she slowly graced down the stairs, her eyes not leaving his. "Bakit... uh, anong ginagawa mo rito?" Sera asked, barely breathing.

Clyde stepped closer to her as he clasped his hands together. But before he answered her question, he tilted his head to look at the three of us–standing close to each other as we watched them closely. He squinted his eyes first like he's trying to hint for us to back off. Shay cleared her throat before dragging Markie and I to the kitchen where we acted nonchalant while secretly eavesdropping to their conversation.

"Tama ka, Sera." Clyde said, making Sera dumbfounded.

"Nag-sorry ako kanina hindi dahil gusto kong humingi ng tawad, at mali ko 'yon. I know that now. Kaya nandito ako ulit para humingi ng sorry sayo at..." Clyde took something out of his backpack, making the three of us adjust our position to find out what it was. "I'm not asking you out on a date this time, but I'd like to get to know you instead."

He took out a bunch of CDs to show Sera, many of which were horror movies he's probably obsessed with. There's a Conjuring one, Chucky movies, even The Ring which I know Sera hates since her sisters used to put their hair down on their faces and crawl on the stairs just to scare her.

"He knows we have Netflix, right?" I mumbled under my breath while crossing my arms. "I didn't even ask him to do this." Markie said, tilting her head to the side as she watched her brother hide his face on a bunch of CD cases while acting cute towards Sera. I asked Markie in disbelief, "Really?"

"Yeah," Markie nodded, "I only told him earlier I'll burn all his creepy dolls if he doesn't apologize to Sera, but that was when we were in the cafeteria."

"Please?" Clyde said as he smiled towards Sera, his dimples showing. Sera hesitated at first. But the way Clyde was looking at her like he hasn't done before was enough to make the doubt disappear. She pointed at the Conjuring movie, making Clyde exclaim yes as they prepared to watch a movie in our living room together. A smile slowly appeared on my face as I watched Sera feel ecstatic about this moment she was only dreaming of before. I tapped my friends in their arms to signal them to leave. I glanced at Sera one last time, feeling genuine happiness for her, before I went back to my room.

As I entered my room with a bottle of dew in my hands and two glasses, I saw Julian wearing his black eyeglasses that looked heavenly on him as he's writing on his notes. It took for Julian to notice me standing at the door, before I moved back to my spot. Julian nervously opened the lunch box he made for the two of us, revealing an appetizing garlic butter shrimp with broccoli and brown rice. I couldn't hide how happy I feel to have someone like him cook something for me. I tried to stop myself from smiling as we started eating but I couldn't, and he ended up giggling with me instead. After eating the lunch box he made for dinner, we started studying. Although occasionally I would find myself focusing on Julian's face as he leaned on the wall, his brows frowning a little while reading each page of his notepad and writing something on it using the red pen I lent him, and the way he'd slowly nod his head when he finally understands what he's reading.
