CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX:

The part of my neck where the clover necklace used to be feels emptier than before. But no matter how empty it feels, I know I did the right thing. It's crazy to think that for seven years I was an idiot holding onto a hope that Kylo would love me back someday, only to find out that he fell in love but he didn't want to be with me. If I still love him despite knowing that fact, then I'm the biggest idiot in the world. I don't want to be that kind of person anymore. Every time I think about it, the pain that I'm feeling is slowly turning into rage.

"Girl! Calm the fuck down!" Markie exclaimed after she almost got hit by the dart I threw. They forced me out of my bed to try the game room for our last day here on the resort. No matter what happens, their goal is to not make me lock myself in our room and enjoy the last taste of our freedom before our flight back to Manila later at 11 o' clock in the evening. I honestly thought my friends would join me earlier when I tried to take a shower at least–that's how paranoid they have become with my sadness.

"I'm sorry! But hey, it's bullseye, though. Fifty points, yay!" I cheered while pointing at the dartboard. If I'm not allowed to cry in our room all day, the least I can do is pour out my pain and anger on this dartboard.

"Yeah? Well, I didn't force you out of the room to murder me." Markie took the darts out of the board for her turn. I scoffed at her remark before moving to the side to watch Shay and Maya struggle from playing pool. Shay kept doing scratches, it's when the cue ball goes inside the pocket instead of hitting the pool balls. Maya, on the other hand, probably found a new talent of hers that I didn't imagine she could ever do. She's also surprised at how well she's playing pool since as far as I know it's her first time playing.

"Yay!" Maya jumped from joy when Shay sinked the 8-ball in the pocket before hitting the other balls, making Maya the winner of the game.

"Ayoko na maglaro." Shay scratched the side of her head while watching Maya's winning ceremony–jumping around while holding the stick like she's won the olympics.

"Come on! Another one, please. We've only played two rounds, and I'm enjoying this game so much... please, please, please!" Maya begged Shay who tried to stand her ground but couldn't resist her at the end. When Shay grabbed her stick, Maya exclaimed a small yay while having the biggest smile on her face.

Shay heaved out a sigh while watching Maya rack up the fifteen pool balls. I crossed my arms while leaning on one of the arcade machines when I suddenly saw Julian standing near the pool table racking up the pool balls like an illusion. My mind showed me flashes of memories from when I forced Yohan to the game room so he'd be distracted from being brokenhearted and Julian helped me do it without any hesitation. My breathing started getting shaky but I fought through it by remembering how Eric calmed me down during the dance. I don't know what it was yet but there was something about Eric that helped me be calm during the storm. He's a friend I could always count on even when he's not around to help.

Jacob jumped down from the chairs that were stacked together to help Shay with the pool. He taught her the right position to do when you're hitting the ball and how you should hold the stick properly. Although Jacob tried his best to teach Shay how to play pool, her eyes kept on drifting from the racked up balls to Jacob's face that's inches away from her. His exposed right arms reached for her right hand, making her enclosed to his body that kept Shay from breathing. "And then... you just hit it." Jacob said, finally looking at Shay's eyes that looked mesmerized while staring at him. The corner of his lips slightly lifted like he's glad to still have that effect on her after all this time.

"Got–got it!" Shay cleared her throat after Jacob moved to her side. He watched her try to break the racked up balls with the cue ball, congratulating her with a hug when a striped ball went inside the pocket.
