"JAS!" I heard Glenn yell suddenly. I pushed the boot but it didn't move. It was stuck.
"JASMINE!" Dale called.
"I'm here!" I yelled as loud as I could but I know that it was muffled.
"JAS!" I hear Carl yell.
"JAZZY!"
"JAS!" People start yelling. I started banging on the boot.
"She was around that red car!" Dale yelled.
"Jazzy! You here?" Shane yelled, he was so close.
"DAD!" I screamed, hitting the boot as hard as I could. "I'M HERE!"
"NOTHING!" Shane yelled, his voice getting faint.
"No..." I cried.
"JAZ? WAS THAT YOU?" Glenn asked.
"YES!" I yelled. He opened the boot and I jumped up at him. I leapt into his arms.
"I'VE GOT HER!" Glenn yelled, walking back to the others.
"Where's my dad?" I asked
"He's looking for Sophia..." Glenn whispered.
"Jasmine!" Carl called me as we walked over. Glenn put me down and I walked into Carl's open arms. "Thank God, you're safe" he whispered in my ear.
Him being this close to me, made my stomach feel funny. It was a good feeling. A feeling that I could only get from him. "Of course I'm safe, I'm tough!" I whispered.
Carl started laughing and I joined in. We stopped hugging and he stared at me, like he was taking notes on every little detail. "That's a nice necklace" Carl said lifting it up.
"I found it but I think it's mine." I replied
"Why?"
"Because when I was younger I swapped it for some little toy." I turned it around to show him the little J.D "Exactly like mine"
"Wow! I'm gonna go search" he told me as he started walking away. I waved and went to the RV.
"Can I sit in here for a little bit?" I asked Dale
"Go ahead" He replied and I walked in and laid on one of the seats. My eyes started to droop but I didn't want them to. They got soo heavy. Suddenly, it hit me like a stack of bricks. Tiredness. My eyes slowly closed and entered a dream.~I looked around. I couldn't see anything because it was so dark. I put my arms out in front of me to try and find something. "Dad!" I yelled but no one answered. "Glenn! Carl! Anyone!"
My worse fear had happened. I was alone but the I saw it... I saw her. She was walking up to me. I instantly went to touch her. "Hello Jasmine" she said.
"How do you know my name?" I asked.
"A mother never forgets" she replied. She went to try and touch my face but I moved away from her.
"If you're my mom, then why are you here?" I questioned.
"It's a dream darling. Your dream. I'm here because you want me here" she stated. I looked at my feet.
"Was it you who was watching me at the CDC?"
"Yes. I'm always here" I looked at her. "Come with me! You've had such a hard life Jas. Join me!"
"I have to be here for daddy!" I yelled. She grabbed onto my arm.
"Join me! Come with me and be happy! Live life as a child!" I started shaking. My whole body started moving
"JAS!" I heard Glenn yell from a distance.
"What's going on?" I asked my mother
"You're joining me" She replied.
"JAS!" Glenn yelled over and over.
"But I don't want to!" I screamed~I woke up and Glenn was leaning over me.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I stared at him for a few seconds.
"I'm fine, why?" I answered.
"You started yelling no in your sleep. I was concerned" he replied
"Thank you"
"What?"
"Thank you for caring about me"
"I'll always care about you Jas. You're like a sister to me!" Glenn could always make me smile. "Do you want to talk about you dream?"
"Not really."
"Then get back to work" he told me laughing. I got up and hugged him.
"Okay bossy!" I giggled as I started walking out.
I saw Carl and started walking to him, he was with SHANE and Lori. He was showing them something. I couldn't see from this distance but it made Lori angry. He just stomped past me. I decided to just carry on going through the cars instead of talking to Carl, he needed his space. I opened one car and I found the jackpot. I started laughing my head off.
"Hey! Over here!" I yelled. Shane walked over.
"What?" He asked.
"Are we looking for food?"
"Of course!"
"We'll look no further!" Shane looked into the boot and started laughing as well. He ruffled my hair.
"Well done, Jazzy!" He muttered as he started grabbing the boxes. I tried to pick one up but it was too heavy.
"Shane!" I yelled and he looked over "I can't carry them"
"I'll do it! You carry on looking! You're our lucky charm!" I went to another car and only found clothes. I carried on looking until it started getting dark. That's when I had to come back. I didn't want to get attacked. When daddy came back I ran and hugged him.
"You didn't find her!" Carol stated
"Her trail went cold" Rick explained. "We'll pick it up again at first light"
"You can't leave my daughter out there on her own. To spend the night alone in the woods." Carol told them
"Hunting in the dark in the woods is no good. We'll just be tripping over ourselves. More people get lost." Daddy replied
"But she's 12! She can't be out there on her own. You didn't find anything?" Carol asked
"I know it's hard" Rick started but I couldn't listen anymore, I just hugged daddy and ignored the adults. I can't believe that we're leaving Sophia out there for the night. She's not capable of surviving on her own. Daddy suddenly put me down and I walked over the Glenn. He wrapped his arm around me and gave me a reassuring smile.
