Chapter Fourteen

We were all siting on the porch of Hershel's house. Waiting for something to do. Me and Carl were just talking about random stuff when Dad came over he started to get angry that no one was talking this seriously. Then Shane came over with a bag full of guns. He started to give out guns, he even gave one to Carl. When we saw Rick with the walkers we ran over to him, to see what was happening. Lori grabbed mine and Carl's hands to make sure that we were safe. Shane started to yell before he broke open the barn. Walkers started spilling out so I let go of Lori's had and I grabbed my gun and shot until I was out of bullets. I hadn't realised that I had moved forward.
"GET BACK, JAS!" Dad shouted, I turned around and a walker grabbed me.
"JAS!!" Carl yelled running towards me but his mom grabbed him.
I grabbed the gun and started smashing it's head in. I looked up and they were all dead. "Why didn't you help?!" I screamed at my dad.
"I could of hit you and I didn't want to take the risk!" He yelled back.
I hugged him and I got to him. I then went to hug Glenn because Carl was talking to his mom and I needed a Glenn hug. I hugged him and he hugged me back as we looked at the barn. I hadn't noticed that there was one last walker left. The walker that we were looking for.
Sophia.
Coming towards us. Dad stopped Carol from running to Sophia and killing herself. Carl broke down and I held Glenn closer. Only Rick had the courage to actually do it. He walked over to her and shot her. I hid my face in Glenn's t-shirt. Hiding my tears. Glenn started patting my back, I then heard screaming. I looked up and it was the blonde girl. What's her name? Beth? A walker had hold of her hair. All the adults went to separate them. T-Dog tried to kill it by stamping on it but Andrea killed it. Carl ran over to me and hugged me. I hugged him as tightly as I can. He pulled away and kissed me. I couldn't kiss back because I could feel my dad starting at us. "What are you doing?!" Dad yelled and Carl snapped back, he took a step away from me.
"Well... Erm... I-I'm sorry!" Carl yelled back and I started smiling.
"JASMINE! GO TO YOUR ROOM!" Dad yelled.
"Okay." I said calmly and started walking away from the camp.
"Where are you going?!" Dad asked.
"To my room. Like you told me." I told him. "My room is at home, so I'm going home."
"I meant go to your tent!" He yelled.
I looked at Carl and I could see that he was trying not to laugh. "It's not my..." I started.
"Don't!" Dad yelled. "Stop back chatting me! Just do as you're told!"
And with that I stomped off to my tent. I grabbed my book and carried on reading it. I didn't care that I pissed my dad off. I just wish that I had kissed Carl back. That way I would of been happy before I got yelled at! My dad stormed in after a few minutes and grabbed my book up of my hands. He threw it and I flinched.
"The funeral is starting." Dad told me.
"I can't go." I muttered.
"Why not?!" He asked angrily.
"I can't bare the thought that Sophia is gone!" I yelled. "She was my friend!"
"Okay then. What's going on with you and Carl?" Dad asked and I decided that I wasn't going to talk to him about it, I crossed my arms and closed my eyes. "You can't ignore me forever!"
"I'm not going to ignore you forever. Just until you calm down." I told him.
"Okay, I'm calm." Dad sighed.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"OF COURSE!" He yelled angrily.
"No you're not. Can I just read my book?" I begged.
"Whatever!" Dad sighed as he walked out. I knew that he was going to interrogate Carl but Rick or Lori would stop him. I grabbed my book and then I threw it. I hated my dad sometimes! He knew how to annoy me!
