We were in an abandoned mall, there was a lot of destroyed shops. I decided to take a look around for things to scavenge for. I was in a random shop, I couldn't read the name as it had faded away after all this time. You know, a apocalypse does that to shops. As I was looking around, I could see lots of clothes that I like so I grabbed then and put them into my bags. I grabbed about five dresses for the summer, ten tops for whenever, two skirts that matched some of the tops, seven trousers that could match anything of mine and some jumpers for this winter.
"Put your hands up, where I can see them, and drop the bag." Someone told me from behind.
I quickly dropped my bag and slowly put my hands up. I also turned around so that I could see who was behind me but I didn't recognize him. He was holding a gun that was pointed at me.
"If you shot me, you'll attract walkers." I reminded him.
"Walk over her, slowly." He ordered.
I did as he said because I wasn't sure what he would do to me. When I got close to him, I could make out some of his features. He had dark brown hair with matching eyes. He wasn't that much older then me and I knew that he was as scared as I was.
"You don't have to do this." I told him.
He grabbed my arm and started walking towards where the rest of the group was, "Do as I say or she gets a bullet in the brain." He yelled out to my group.
Everyone went to raise their weapons but as soon as they saw me, they put them onto the ground. Rick broke the silence, "What do you want?"
"All of your food and weapons." He told them.
I noticed that he wasn't looking at me and his grip was loose so I quickly pulled away before grabbing my gun.
"You're not getting anything." I spat, "Did you think that I was an easy target because I'm a girl? Too bad."
I started laughing and noticed that everyone else grabbed their guns and weapons.
"I'm sorry." He whispered.
"Do you want to join us?" I asked.
"Jaz, are you crazy?" Carl asked, walking over to me.
"He's trying to survive. He's got skills. He just didn't know who he was up against." I argued, "We'd do the same. Just remember that."
"Jasmine. You don't get to decide who joins us." Rick tried to remind me.
"What are you going to do about it, Rick?" I asked.
"Why are we arguing about this piece of shit?" Dad asked.
"Because he's not that much older then me." I reminded them, "Why shouldn't he get a chance to survive with us."
"Because someone would need to babysit him." Lori piped up, "And I wouldn't trust him anywhere near us."
"I'm the one who's arguing for him to join us so I'll take the blame if something happens." I said.
"You trust me that much?" He asked.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"George. And I'm guessing that you're Jasmine." George tried to be a smart ass.
"Shut up. Or else you're going to get a bullet in the brain." I warned, "Come on, we're going to go get my stuff."
Daryl grabbed George's gun and put it into his own bag before throwing me some rope. I quickly tied his wrists together before going back to the shop we were previously in. I picked up my bag and carried on looking around.
"I think that you'd look nice in this." George broke the silence while holding a thong.
"Shut up!" I yelled and threw a random piece of clothing at him.
"I was joking, by the way." He cleared, "I really am sorry."
"I know." I told him, "To be honest, I would've done the same thing."
"Why were you so determined to help me?" He asked.
"My group has become more strict and horrible but I've become more soft because someone has to be." For some reason I was opening up to him, "Nothing used to hurt me but then, suddenly, every little thing destroyed me."
"That's hard to believe." He muttered, "You easily disarmed me."
"Only because I was scared." I whispered.
We went into another shop that I'm guessing was a pharmacist. I was getting all of the essential things for the group. But while I was looking around, I couldn't help but notice that there was a low groan. Suddenly, George jumped on top of me and when I went to scream, he covered my mouth. I tried to push him off but he whispered for me to trust him and I did. I stayed perfectly still until he got up.
"There was a walker, I couldn't think of anything to do because I'm tied up." He informed me.
I untied him and put the rope in my bag. When I looked up, I expected for him to have gone but he was looking around. I quickly threw my bag at him (which he caught) before running off to the group. It wasn't just one walker but a big group of them. I pulled my knife out and slowly made my way to the group when they noticed me. I went to stab one of them in the head when the knife got caught and I was pushed up against the wall, unarmed.
"HELP!" I screamed.
I heard a few gunshots, bodies started dropping and I fell to my knees. I covered my head and felt a body drop on me. I started freaking out.
"Jasmine." I heard a voice whisper, "Calm down."
"Jazzy. What happened?" Carl's familiar voice calmed me. I grabbed ahold of him and didn't want to let go. "What did you do?"
"I saved her, you asshole." George muttered, "Where was you?"
"Stop it." I said, "Both of you."
I got up and went back to the pharmacist. I went through my bag and picked out an outfit before getting change. I tied my hair up and cleaned my face, I had blood all over me from the walkers.
