The next day, I was allowed to get up and do as I wish so I went to Carl and fed the chickens with him. "Everything is food for something else." Carl said as I walked over.
"Don't be so glum." I told him. He turned around and hugged me.
"Since when have you been able to walk around?" He asked.
"Since today so let's have some fun." I moaned.
"Can we mom?" He asked Lori.
"Yeah as long as Jas looks after you." Lori joked and I started laughing.
We walked off and heard the adults talking about gun practice. "You wanna do it?" Carl asked.
"Gun practice? Of course!" I told him, Shane walked over.
"Dude, nice lid, man." Shane said to Carl. "What's going on?"
"We want to learn to shoot, too. Can you teach us?" Carl asked Shane.
"Well, man, that's up to your parents." Shane told us.
"Can you talk to them? They'll listen to you." Carl asked.
"We'll see, okay?" Shane said. Carl grabbed my arm and started to walk away. "Hey. Let me see what you've got there."
Carl showed us a gun. I was so shocked. Shane took Carl to his parents and showed them, I didn't get involved.
I just walked over to my dad. "Can I go to gun training?" I asked him.
"You don't need to." Dad commented.
"Then, can I have a gun?" I asked.
"Okay but only if you promise to only use it in emergency" He told me.
"I PROMISE!" I yelled excited.
He grabbed his spear gun and passed it to me. "What is it with you and promises?" Daddy asked.
"Because I need something to live by. I live by my promises." I told him. "Wouldn't you rather that then me doing whatever I want?"
"You live by you promises and I'll do whatever I want." He told me, I just laughed.
I put my gun in my waistband and picked up a book. I laid down on my make shift bed and started reading. I stayed in my tent while everyone went to shooting practice. I then heard Glenn and Dale talking. "Spit it out, son" Dale told him.
"The barn is full of walkers and Lori's pregnant!" Glenn told Dale not realising that I could hear.
"What?" I breathed. I put the book down and walked out. "Hey!"
"Oh! Jas! You're here! Why are you here?" Glenn asked.
"Because I don't need to go to gun training. My dad trusts me with a gun!" I said with a smile.
"Did-did you hear what I said?" Glenn asked nervously.
"No. I was too into my book. I just need to talk to Hershel!" I lied, I rushed toward the house and knocked but there was no answer so I decided to look in the stable.
"Hey there Jasmine." Hershel said as I turned the corner.
"Hi, Hershel. You can just call me Jas, everyone else does." I told him with a smile.
"Let's just stay formal." Hershel muttered. "Is there anything that I can help you with?"
"I just wanted to ask you about... my wound. How long roughly will it take to heal completely?" I asked.
"I can't say. Sorry." Hershel told me.
"Oh, it's okay. It wasn't that big of a problem! Just curious old me!" I babbled on. "I'm just..." I pointed at our groups part of the field.
"Okay then. Have fun" I just ran back to my tent and read my book until a wild Carl appeared.
He pulled me up and we stared into each other's eyes until out lips crashed together. I then realised that my dad could walk in at any time. I pulled away. "I'm sorry. It just my dad. He would go mental if he found out about us!" I told him.
"Don't worry!" Carl said, stroking my face. "I completely understand."
I smiled at his kind words and gave him a quick peck on the lips. "Let's go somewhere where the adults won't find us. Then we can kiss without fear of being caught!" I told him and he nodded.
He grabbed my hand and we walked out of my tent. We snuck into the woods. Carl pushed against a tree and started kissing me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. We kissed until we heard a rustle. We pulled apart and I grabbed Carl's hand.
"Let's go back now..." I whispered into his ear.
He nodded and we walked back. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Lori yelled when we got back.
I froze up, not knowing what to say. "We were in the forest. You said that I could spend the day with Jas." Carl told him mother.
"I know that but it's dark now! A walker could of got you! We've already lost one child and Jas has only just recovered!" Lori reminded us.
"If a walker came, I would of dealt with it." I told Lori
"How?" Lori asked.
"With my gun." I answered.
"You have a gun?" She asked.
"Yes" I replied.
"Can I see it?" She asked.
I lifted up my shirt so that she could see the gun. She immediately grabbed it. "HEY! THATS MINE!" I yelled.
"What's all the yelling about?" Daddy asked as he got out of our tent
"THIS!" Lori told him.
Holding up my gun to show daddy. "What about it?" Dad asked.
"Jas took it!" Lori told him.
"No, she didn't. I gave it to her. I trust her with it." Dad corrected Lori.
Lori just looked shell shocked. She walked over and gave me my gun back, then grabbed Carl's arm and walked off. I went to dad and hugged him. I walked into our tent and sat down. Dad followed me in and sat next to me.
