The day had been going pretty well actually, Nothing out of the normal and nothing weird. Until he'd watched it happen.
William was leading some kid down the hall. A little boy with ginger hair and freckles. And the worst part was he was wearing that suit... The one Cassidy pointed to...
Where were they going?
At that point TJ forced himself to follow William at a distance.. when he turned the corner...
Nothing.
Where'd they go?
TJ almost choked on his own tongue as he realized they disappeared... Did he take the kid to the safe room? He wasn't supposed to do that... Unless he...
No! TJ ran up and traced his fingers along the wall until he felt a crease... Sweat was starting to drip down his forehead and he attempted to pry the door open. He needed to save this kid... He couldn't just do nothing.
An ear piercing scream made him stop cold. The scream wasn't at all loud... Only he could probably hear it.
It was too late...
He couldn't save this kid, or any of the others...
His mind was interrupted by the click of a lock... Right in front of him...
He turned and ran down the hall as quickly as he had ever ran. Down the hall, into the main room.. Nobody gave TJ a second glance as he speed walked through the crowd and into the restrooms.
Had William seen him? Had he heard him run? Did he do this on purpose? TJ's head felt light as he looked at himself in the mirror.
He looked like a madman with stray curls of his hair we're stuck to his sweaty, dark skin. He pushed back the curls and splashed some water on his face. He did not know how he could face William again without revealing that he knew.
What would he tell Teaghan?
He needed to tell her. No matter what.
Once he composed himself, TJ walked out of the room that was bussing with ignorant and happy people... Then he saw one woman in particular looking as frantic as him. The woman was also very tall, freckled and had ginger hair.
It was that kids mom... He could not bear to look up at her a second time as he pushed through the crowd.. and as luck would have it someone grabbed his arm.
"Hello? Do you work here?" A woman's voice spoke with a slight quiver.
TJ turned and made a weak smile at the woman, hopefully she didn't realize how nervous he was too..
"Uhm yes, how can I help you miss?" He straightens himself and looked at the woman.
She did seem a bit anxious. "H-have you seen a little boy? He has ginger hair and is about 7... I went outside to have a phonecall and when I came back... I couldn't find him."
TJ paused and shook his head. He bowed his head slightly at her and made sympathetic eyes.
"No ma'am. I have not. I'm sure he's just playing. Have you checked the playroom? Or the ballpit? I know that some kids like to hide at the bottom sometimes.."
The woman made a loud sigh and nodded "w-well no I suppose... But if you see him tell him that his mother wants him."
TJ made a small nod "can do, have a faz-terrific day!" He smiled and turned to keep walking.
He wanted to cry, he knew that she'd call him crazy if he told her the truth. And he knew he had no hard proof of what William was doing... He walked into the staff room and grabbed his cellular out of his bag.
He marched outside and dialed Teaghans number, since it was on the board inside..
Brring!
Brrring!
Brri-!
"H-hello? Teaghans tired voice spoke through the receiver.
"Teaghan it's me TJ, I have some news..."
Apparently Teaghan could sense how tense TJ was and her voice became concerned.
"What happened?" Teaghan yawned the words.
"I-i... I don't know how to say this but... I'm pretty sure I saw Mr Afton.... With a kid... And-and!....." TJ started to choke up on the line "I couldn't stop it..I was to l-late... I heard the kids scream...."
Teaghan sat up on her bed, yanking the phone block along with her.
".... Hey hey... TJ you tried... Thats all that matters.... Did he see you? Are you alright?" Teaghans voice spoke calmly, like a mother soothing her child.
TJ hiccuped and pressed his ear to the phone, for a moment or two all Teaghan heard was his breathing.
"I-im fine... I have no idea but.... I feel so guilty...like I let this happen..."
Teaghan sighed softly, TJ could hear her scuffling about on her side of the line.
"You are innocent, William is the horrible and guilty one... If he did see you I wouldn't recommend staying late. Leave as early as possible. Meet me at the park after you get off... Just try to stay calm... Don't draw attention to yourself."
TJ nodded, his hands squeezed the phone tightly. "O-okay... I can do that....I'm sorry for getting you up... I know your usually asleep..."
"It's fine, I'll call in tonight... Just remember to be safe... I'll see you tonight." Teaghan yawned softly as she heard the phone click.
TJ sighed and looked at the building... He wanted nothing more than to run. Rub far away from this place and never come back...
But he couldn't... He couldn't afford it... And if he did he wouldn't be able to live with himself.
So he forced his legs to walk back into the diner. He might as well do his job normally... Until he got off...
****
Omg I'm so pumped for what to do next, if any of you have ideas for more gore, maybe even fluff tell me. I will do my best to include it. But let's set one thing straight. Teaghan and TJ will not be romantic for eachother. Teaghan is areo-ace and TJ likes Samm, who I'll bring in if you'd like. Anyhoo just let me know if you have any ideas or questions.
