In the heart of darkness

  "I don't want to be here and they don't want me here"
 
  I answer back annoyed that I had to say it yet again
 
  "They just don't know you, if they knew just how amazing you were they would love to have you here"
 
  "You know this is punishment right? This is hell."
 
  I snap back but Just then Micky walks in, he makes a beeline right for MY Carly and my mood plummets. I don't care if he's 10, he's a horrible little bastard that wants what's mine, not that if my mother heard me say that I'm sure she would slap me round the ear but it's true. He likes my mate so I hate him.
 
  Cain pushes forward in my head growling
 
  "Kill him"
 
  "I can't kill him"
 
  I say back shaking my head to distract myself, then his stupid little mind starts chattering away
 
  Mickys head
  "Look how pretty she is."
 
  Carlys head
  "Oh he's here he's finally here"
 
  "Hey Carly"
 
  Carly
  "Omg he's talking to me shit shit"
 
  "Hey Micky, how are you?"
 
  She twirls the hair around her fingers and rocks from side to side. Cain growls trying to push forward
 
  Micky
  "I wonder if that means she likes me"
 
  "I'm good. I wanted to know if you wanted to play a game with me"
 
  Carly
  "He likes me! He likes me"
 
  My heart shatters in my chest. She's only 10 but it hurts that she doesn't like me but does like that dweb
 
  "Yes please, what do you want to play?"
 
  "I was thinking of playing husband and wife?"
 
  Cain growls out loud, I turn closing my eyes and I glare at my mother. She frowns and looks behind me
 
  Carly
  "He loves me he loves me"
 
  My mums face softens and her voice flits through my head
 
  "Go play with them"
 
  "Yes go play with them Carter NOW"
 
  Cain shouts at me making me jump, I take a deep breath and I turn walking over to them. They all stop what they are doing and look at me. Carly frowns standing beside Micky.
 
  "What do you want?"
 
  One of her girl friends asks me
 
  "To play to"
 
  They laugh at me, I turn to carly
 
  Carly
  "What the hell is he doing he's going to ruin everything "
 
  I hold back my glare and smile at her
 
  "Let's play carly"
 
  Carly
  "What is he doing. Just go away Carter"
 
  "I think we are going to play on our own, come on carly let's go"
 
  Micky takes Carly's hand and pulls her away from me. Cain growls in my head tearing at my insides to get out and kill him.
 
  He's a kid. Just a kid. Just a fucking kid.
 
  "Exactly A kid! Killing just 1 won't make a difference, this place is full of the disgusting little shits"
 
  "No Cain mum will be mad"
 
  He stomps his foot at me as Carly walks away with Micky. I turn on my heels as all her little friends start laughing at me. I look to mum and head towards her but freeze when I hear his thoughts
 
  Micky
  "I'm going to kiss her and ask her to be my girlfriend"
 
  Anger bubbles up within me as I slowly turn and look towards them. Holding hands and playing. Darkness fills my soul, it bubbles and spreads, polluting my body.
 
  "Oh shit what's he doing"
 
  Parents start grabbing their kids and they yank them away from me. I hear my mum run towards me as I try to control the darkness that is begging me to be released. Cains not helping matters. He wants to hurt him. But if I hurt him I hurt her and I refuse to be the reason behind her pain. Mum drops to her knees in front of me
 
  "Carter, you need to calm down"
 
  I look at her, can she not see I'm trying? I'm fighting with every fibre in my body. I don't want to hurt him but the darkness needs his light for a damn reason.
 
  "I'm trying"
 
  I feel tears burn at my eyes as she lifts me but squeaks letting me go. The black tendrils leaving burn marks on the palms of her hand, it heals instantly as they burn my skin.
 
  "Can you walk"
 
  I take a deep breath and try to turn around
 
  Micky
  "I'm going to kiss her now"
 
  I growl ferociously, silencing everyone one at the party. My eyes dart to them both, they were out of everybody's way. My entire body shivers
 
  "What? what is it? You need to stop it Carter"
 
  "He's. going. To. Kiss. Her"
 
  I spit sputtering out of my mouth as I glare at them together. Mum frowns turning around and when she sets eyes on them she growls just as they close their eyes and pucker up. She sprints towards them
 
  "Carly Mc Greger you unpucker those lips and get your little hiney home you know the rules no damn kissing until you get a wolf"
 
  I take a calming breath as mum  scolds Carly. She and Micky both freeze in fear. My mother was a scary force to be reckoned with.
 
  "I wasn't"
 
  "Don't you lie to me. Home now!"
 
  She points to the side of the house. Carly huffs and walks off, crossing her arms over her chest. Mum glares at the little boy
 
  "Try that again and I'll let the alpha deal with you"
 
  She tells him, all the colour drains from his face and Cain starts to laugh in my head as the darkness resides and I take a full easy breath. I turn and head for home walking straight past Carly. I didn't want to talk to her, not after what she just tried to do.
 
  "This is all your fault Carter!"
 
  I freeze and turn to look at her.
 
  "If you would have kept your big mouth shut it would have been fine"
