  I grab my school stuff and head downstairs but stop when I get halfway down. He looked so fucking good. My mouth goes dry as I look him over. He wore a white T-shirt stretched over his huge muscles, he's rocking the sexy 5 o'clock shadow. His dark denim jeans are turned up at the bottom, covering his brown boots. He took my damn breath away.
 
  He turns feeling my stare and his eyes rake over my body, his lips turning up at each side spreading into a huge grin across his face. He steps forward, putting his hand out to me. I take it as he yanks me against his chest. I sniff in his scent and my body relaxes against him.
 
  "You ready?"
 
  "Yeah"
 
  I pull away so my dads can kiss each cheek and Carter kisses mums.
 
  "Be good both of you"
 
  They watch us leave together and I frown looking up at Carter who screws up his face. Lexi laughing catches me of guard, she's staring at my parents then she skips up to us
 
  "You realise they are just waiting for you both to be far enough away so they can spend the day having sex"
 
  I groan, she's right I know she is but it doesn't mean I want to hear it. We jump into the back of Daniels car as my parents wave us off like we are 3 years old.
 
  "Well that's gross, what class have you got first?"
 
  "Structural design and art for the first 3 classes"
 
  He groans
 
  "You take that class, why?"
 
  "Because I like it, now I need you to make a pact"
 
  He frowns
 
  "Why?"
 
  "Because I want to make you something for your birthday but I don't want you snooping in my brain when I'm in class or when I'm thinking about it or it will ruin the surprise"
 
  "I told you I don't need anything"
 
  "I know you don't need anything but I want to make you something. There's a difference so please"
 
  He purges his lips looking intrigued
 
  "Ok"
 
  "What is a pact?"
 
  Lexi asks leaning over to look he takes his hand and slashes it with his finger
 
  "Make it so if you peek that not only do you feel pain but I feel pain to so then I know you would never hurt me by peeking"
 
  He pouts
 
  "That's extremely smart, fine"
 
  He slashes my hand and we link them together
 
  "I hereby promise not to snoop in your head while you think about, make or dream about the present your making me"
 
  "And if you do snoop by accident that I Carly Mcgregor will feel the pain of the pact, if you happen to come across someone else who knows about the present or is helping me with it you will be blocked from those thoughts to"
 
  "Fine fine"
 
  He rolls his eyes then smirks at me
 
  "I Carter Mcgregor hereby agree to these terms, if broken for even a second both myself and Carly will feel the pain of the pact"
 
  Our blood merges making me whimper and our skin nits back together sealing the pact within our blood. I smile kissing his lips
 
  "Thank you"
 
  Lexi grabs my hand and looks at it
 
  "What just happened?"
 
  "It's something we tried when we were kids, Carter saw Cain do it many lives ago, it's how they would come to an agreement in the caveman days. If we break it, it feels like your hands on fire until you stop what you're doing"
 
  "And can we all do this?"
 
  She seems intrigued
 
  "No, you could do it with one of us or Ella but if you tried it with someone else it wouldn't work, something to do with the magic in our blood"
 
  She purges her lips sitting back on her chair
 
  "Interesting"
 
  Suddenly my hand burned and I Yelp shaking it
 
  "Carter"
 
  I snap he growls
 
  "I don't like this pact I don't want to hurt you"
 
  "Well you will if you keep snooping! see I knew you would cheat"
 
  He zeros his eyes in at me and I push forward and kiss him.
 
  "Aw jez can you both give it a rest"
 
  Lexi is the gammas daughter, her fathers Dale and Greg were our parents best friends. Because of this we spend a lot of time around her, she is trustworthy but she's a bit of a loner. She would rather listen to music and read then she would hang out in groups. She is the same age as us and she will most likely become our gamma when the time comes.
 
  depending on what her mate ranks as. If she meets her mate and he's from a different pack then she could have him join this pack and become gamma or she could leave but usually in a Lycan pack the position is passed down through generations.
 
  My father broke tradition and killed his beta and chose my father as beta then took Greg and Dale on as his gamma. Now that will be passed down to Lexi if she wants it and the situation fits it. As for beta, my parents and Carter have been playing around with the idea of them becoming betas for us. It would mean they can't retire but their workload would be significantly less and since we don't have anyone else in the pack that are trustworthy enough to become a ranked member then we might not have a choice in the matter.
 
  we jump out of the car and its like a bomb goes of as student run from us like little mice. me and Lexi screw up our faces and look at each other. Then we look at Carter who's completely oblivious to the entire thing. He throws his arm around my shoulder and as we walk people just spread out watching us.
 
  "What the fuck is going on?"
