  it only takes a few minutes to get there. When we do, Carter dresses himself then comes to my side. Mum walks out the back door with a pair of my pyjamas. She was furious, it was radiating off of her.
 
  "Switch back now"
 
  She says through gritted teeth, I shift back and thankfully it's nowhere near as painful. She throws the clothes at me and I pull them on as she averts her eyes. Carter on the other hand watches my every move. His eyes move down my body slowly as he licks his lips. His gaze burned into me. As I pull on my bottoms I notice something on my hands. Then I freeze looking up to Carter who seems to have recovered
 
  "What?"
 
  He asks, I flip my hand so he could see it. He flips his own and he grins as mum points to the house
 
  "One issue at a time. Get in the damn house"
 
  I drop my head and I walk past her to the sofa where I hang my head in shame as Carter goes straight to the tv. I looked up when my fathers shoes came into my line of vision as I looked to the floor.
 
  "What were you thinking? Someone could have taken you!"
 
  Jaxon snaps at me
 
  "Not only that but the pain you caused Carter. I watched as your mother took heart attack after heart attack because your father was a dimwit! Why would you ever do that to him!"
 
  I frown as mum mumbles something
 
  "For a start I didn't know, it wasn't planned and Carter kissed a girl to teach me a lesson so you should be mad at him too!"
 
  I rant crossing my arms over my chest. I still can't believe he would stoop so fucking low
 
  "Did you learn the lesson?"
 
  Mum asks me, I shrug
 
  "Well I won't be kissing anyone else if that's what you mean"
 
  "Good, why would I punish him for waking you the hell up! What were you doing at that damn party alone? All you had to do was ask and Daniel would have went"
 
  I groan falling back on the chair
 
  "Seriously he's a walking talking dinosaur who spends his bloody time cock blocking me"
 
  Carter roars swinging towards me, he plants his fists on either side of me as Cain pushes forward growling
 
  "Damn you've done it now"
 
  Cleo whispers, stepping back in fear
 
  "MINE! YOU DO NOT TOUCH ANOTHER"
 
  I was getting a little sick and tired of his attitude so I growl pushing further and hitting his nose with my own.
 
  "I THINK WE ALREADY FUCKING ESTABLISHED THAT DUMB DUMB! Move . The . Fuck . On!"
 
  He smashes his forehead against mine
 
  "Not until you say it"
 
  No no no no no! If I admit that my damn life is over. I'll never have any friends and Nobody will respect me.
 
  "That's what you're worried about? Fuck them. Say it Carly because we ain't leaving this spot until you do!"
 
  "Just say it, it's the truth"
 
  Cleo tells me, she was a little to tally for my liking right now
 
  "I don't care"
 
  "You should, by the sounds of it you had it easy so far. You should count your blessings not the things that annoy you"
 
  She snaps back
 
  "Fine but If he becomes insufferable then you're dealing with him."
 
  I across my arm over my chest huffing
 
  "Fine I'm yours and only yours"
 
  He lets out a low sexy growl looking at me with hungry eyes and I've got to stop myself from swallowing the last of the moisture I have left inside my mouth. His lips tip up slightly as the twinkle returns to his eyes. A look of celebration all over his face.
 
  but my voice distracts me as the video loaded and my night of shame started to play for all to see. Tears sting at my eyes as I watch it silently. I watch until I can't no more, turning to look at Carter. His face is like stone as he watches it. Rage evolves from within him as the dark tendrils pollute his body, spreading throughout him. Up his neck and down his arms staining every vein and darkening every blood vessel.
 
  I reach out and touch him. My hands buzz against his face making us both jump, but then he moves into my hand and slowly I watch as they dissolve and his breathing settles down.
 
  "I'm killing him tomorrow at 6am in a public execution and anyone that planted and knew about the camera and recording will be punished. They don't get to hurt my queen"
 
  "They are kids son, you can—"
 
  "—I can and I will!"
 
  He growls, answering jaxon, standing up and facing off with my parents. Suddenly I felt so extremely guilty that I caused so much trouble.
 
  "If tonight didn't happen you would have went on thinking that you had friends when really they were just using you"
 
  Cleo tells me softly
 
  "Maybe so, it doesn't make me feel any better though."
 
  I answer her, maybe having a wolf isn't so bad after all
 
  "Look what they did. I won't tolerate it. If she hadn't burned him, how far would he have gotten?"
 
  "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I caused so much trouble. I'll do the dishes for a week, take the bins out and help with paperwork and I swear I won't ever go to a party again. May I be excused?"
 
  Mum's face softens as she walks over to me and she pulls me into a hug. I am by far the smallest woman in our family, I have a tiny frame with tiny feet but thankfully I have boobs and a butt to make up for my short stature. My eyes were blue with a golden rim, my hair was black, curly and wild, it fell down my back and it was always in my way. My face was small, heart shaped with a button nose and huge eyes with high cheekbones, finished with large plump lips.
 
  "Yes, we can talk more tomorrow, I love you"
 
  She kisses my cheek holding my face in her hand
 
  "goodnight"
 
  She whispers
 
  "She's sleeping in my room"
 
  I groan rolling my eyes, dads growl
 
  "Hell no she's too young for that"
 
  "It's just until I can trust that she won't run off and do something stupid AGAIN"
 
  "I said sorry Carter stop being a dick"
 
  He pinches the bridge of his nose taking a deep breath
 
  "I know I'm sorry I'm just on edge"
 
  "I still don't care Carter she can't sleep in your room"
 
  Scott tells him
 
  "She can and she will! I won't touch her. All we will do is sleep, you can build a damn pillow dam down the middle of the bed if you want but she is not leaving my side again! That means sleeping in my room, coming to work with me, going to training by my side. She is the queen! My queen and it's about time you all got use to the idea"
 
  He points to the stairs looking at me
 
  "Bed now"
 
  I groan rolling my eyes as I March up the stairs suddenly too tired to give a shit. I stop outside his room tapping my foot impatiently, he opens the door for me and I walk in. He had a large king size bed to the left by the door, opposite the balcony outside. A bathroom and walk in was to the right. The walls were painted grey, the bedsheets were dark navy blue pulling the room together. I plop down on the bed and I yawn, pulling the covers away and laying under them. He jumps in on the other side, turning the light off first.
 
  We used to spend every night together, best friends. Us against the world then one day it all stopped. Maybe it was all me, maybe it was all him, or maybe it was both of us who caused the divide. All I know is we went from spending every second with each other to hardly any time atol.
 
  "What happened to us?"
 
  I ask him looking to the roof, he rolls to look at me, I ignore him
 
  "You started to notice other boys and I couldn't stand it even as a damn baby. Then you hated my reaction so you chose your friends over me."
 
  I frown looking at him, he was right.
 
  "So I fucked us up?"
 
  He rolls his eyes, shaking his head. He grabs my body yanking me across the bed so we are nose to nose.
 
  "I didn't say that, you're always so hard on yourself. No we both fucked it up. My jealousy fucked it up"
 
  "Jealous of what?"
 
  He snorts
 
  "Carly cù you are the most beautiful person, you're hilarious, your eyes are so so perfect, your body is unbelievable. I'm jealous because every damn day I thank my lucky stars to be blessed with a mate like you and I know everyone else sees it too. I know they want what I have and you spend 97% of your time being pissed off at me and nice to them so yes I'm jealous. I'm so fucking jealous"
