  "So what did we miss?"
 
  "Lilly rang the fire brigade and when they got there she offered them $1000 each to do a strip tease. Drake nearly had a heart attack had to convince them not to call the police"
 
  I snort spluttering juice all over my food
 
  "I was not expecting you to say that. Did any of them do it?"
 
  "One tried after she took a liking to him and she sent Isla over and gave him ten grand to strip. Jake lost it and turned the music off after that and sent them all to bed"
 
  I shake my head, happy I was home by that stage. I had heaps of fun last night but there's a line that I wouldn't like to think I'd ever cross.
 
  "Yeah I know, I missed it all. I got bored after a while and we went to bed. It's all fun and games for a while but I'd honestly I'd rather be with your dads, we have enough fun on our own"
 
  "Ewe mum not at the breakfast table"
 
  She frowns at me, then shakes her head
 
  "No I don't mean like that, I mean in general. We have so much fun all the time, it's fun to get drunk and have a dance-off but more then that is too far, so I'm glad you could recognise that Carly because they were all right about one thing your both extremely special and you should never take what you have for granted"
 
  I raise my eyebrow in the air
 
  "What the hell happened that's got you talking so wise?"
 
  She shrugs
 
  "Nothing I just get emotional when I'm hung over, do you want to spend the day on the couch watching romcoms with me? Your dads are going to the shop to buy me some Redbull, popcorn, chocolate and chips after breakfast"
 
  "We are?"
 
  "Yes you are, I'm having an off day and Chinese for dinner maybe even something fried for lunch"
 
  I giggle agreeing with mum. That sounds like the best damn day ever.
 
  "Yeah we can light the fire and watch movies but can we watch ps I love you first"
 
  She gasps clutching her chest and pouting
 
  "Oh I knew I raised you right, that sounds perfect"
 
  So that's what we do. We have the laziest day ever but it was definitely the calm before the storm because the weeks following were crazy trying to prepare for the wedding. As much as I wanted a fancy wedding I also wanted a pack wedding. I wanted to welcome anyone that was not on patrol juty so instead of fancy linin and china we decided on lines and lines of tables, we would serve bbq and have muffins instead of cake.
 
  We would have bouncy houses for the kids and have a band play live music. My dad had been planning it for over a year now booking everything in advance and making sure we had the best of the best.
 
  While he did that I finished my house, I had a few things to grab in the town so Daniel, me and Rob went shopping. As I looked at different fabrics and pulled out different samples I pause when janey walks around the corner. The boys growl at her for getting too close
 
  "Wow wow wow, didn't mean it I'm sorry"
 
  "It's fine Daniel let her past"
 
  "See Daniel I'm no threat"
 
  I ignore her as she pulls something from her bag and before I could process a thing I heard growls then a loud bang and suddenly I was hit with a force so strong it knocked me off my feet
 
  "Catch her she shot the Luna"
 
  I gasp sitting up, Daniel pushes of me as the shock settles in my system. the little shotgun pellets fall from under my shirt where they had ripped it. I would be bruised but nothing more than that. I shake myself off as Rob and Max take off after her.
 
  "Carly are you ok?"
 
  Daniel asks me but I frown he was covered in blood
 
  "Who's blood is that!"
 
  I snap getting on my knees and I rip the shirt he's wearing off. Some pellets had gotten him good.
 
  "Get me a first aid kit and tweezers immediately, if you have any spirits bring it as well"
 
  I ask the shop assistant, she nods running off as I start to pull each bit out of him, he gasps so I touch his shoulder and take his pain. When it's gone I continue
 
  "It's ok carly I can go to the hospital"
 
  "Nonsense, you got shot because of me, now I'm going to heal you but I need to take them all out first"
 
  The shop assistant comes back tearing open the tweezers and she hands them to me
 
  "Glove would be good to"
 
  She pulls out the first aid kit and hands me gloves. I pull them on and I grab the rubbing alcohol pouring it over the wound. I hand gauze to the shopkeeper
 
  "Keep pressure on the clean bits"
 
  She does what she's told as a crowd gathers around us. I get to work pulling every single piece from his side and shoulder and when I'm done I clean it all out and finally I heal him making sure to check I didn't forget any bits. Just then Carter bursts through the door
 
  "WHERE IS SHE"
 
  He roars clearing everyone out
 
  "I'm here, I'm fine I was just healing Daniel"
 
  He pushes through the crowd landing on his knees in front of me. He grabs me so tight. His body was trembling
 
  "I was so scared"
 
  He whispers emotionally. I pull back smiling knowing he doesn't want to show this kind of emotion in front of the pack. I kiss his lips and pull off the gloves leaving them with the rubbish and i grab his face running my hand down his cheek to calm him. I tell his body to relax and soon he's taking deep calming breaths. I kiss his lips again and look into his eyes
 
  "Let's talk at home. Daniel, You need to take it easy today, so go home and rest up and I'll see you tomorrow. Thank you for stepping in like that"
 
  Carter freezes looking to Daniel
 
  "You took a bullet for her"
 
  "Of Course alpha, she's like my kid sister and she's also my friend and Luna. I watched her grow into who she is today and because I know how amazing she is going to be as Luna I would always take a bullet for her"
 
  Carter holds his hand out to him and they shake
 
  "You are getting a huge raise with that new contract and you can choose any car to drive her around in. The car will stay in your name so even if you quit you can take it with you"
 
  Daniels eyes widen and he shakes his hand stronger
 
  "I appreciate that Carter but seriously you don't need to"
 
  "No I really do Daniel, you took a bullet for the only light my world has. I owe you everything"
 
  He smiles nodding his head then Carter turns pushing me out of the shop
 
  "Did they get her?"
 
  "Yeah they got her, but she shot herself before we could question her"
 
  I growl unhappy with that answer
 
  "It was weird, she was there and the boys growled at her and I told them to ignore her and suddenly the force of the bullets sent me flying across the floor. Daniel should be dead right now. I don't know how it didn't blow a hole in his side"
 
  "It's because he holds my power, has done since the day we chose him as your guard. A primordial can't get in his head and he's stronger, faster and more durable than anyone else although I think I'm going to try and make him bullet proof"
 
  "Please do, my conscious couldn't take it if he died because of me"
 
  Max and Rob meet us outside and follow us home, mum and dads are waiting for us outside. They come running to us and throw me into a group hug
 
  "Are you ok? Where is Daniel? Is he ok? Did she hurt you?"
 
  "I'm fine, chill they bounced right off me"
 
  "Her parents?"
 
  "Guards are on there way back with them now"
 
  "Good have them come to the office"
 
  He grabs me out of the middle of my parents and he yanks me back
 
  "She needs a new top"
 
  They roll their eyes as he snatches me from them like I'm a toy. He carries me inside and up to my room
 
  "It takes less than 10 seconds to change a top remember that"
 
  Dad shouts up making me snort as Carter glares at the stairs. He lets me down in my room and I go looking for a fresh top, I change quickly and then head downstairs to smoke while we wait for janeys parents. Mum pulls me down to the daybed and she hands me a joint hugging me around the shoulders.
 
  "I was so scared"
 
  "I wasn't, I was scared when Daniel tried to take the bullet for me. I don't want anyone dying trying to save me when the bullets wouldn't have penetrated anyway"
 
  She sighs shaking her head
 
  "I know that's how you feel now but you need to understand that there are things out there that can kill a hound. If they killed you I fear it would be the end of the world as we know it"
 
  I frown looking at her
 
  "What do you mean"
 
  She chews her bottom lip nervously
