Someone I can trust and love?

Chapter 20

(They suggested a hurt/comfort, so the beginning might be a bit angsty. Just a heads up)

As time flew, their son was growing happy and healthy, Noi was proud to be the parent of an adorable son. There isn’t a day when Xinqui wasn’t laughing or smiling. He could tell that his parents are giving all their love to him and shows the love back with his laughs or smiles. Soon, Xinqui was about to turn one year old already, Noi was a bit upset that his son was growing up so fast, but he knew that it’s going to happen sooner or later. But for some reason he noticed that Pierce started to act a bit different ever since Xinqui was 11 ½ months old, like he doesn’t seem to be happy and always seems to have something on his mind. Noi was starting to get worried that he might have done something that had upset Pierce.

Noi: “Hey Pierce, is everything okay?”

He tried asking him to see if he could do at least something to cheer him up, but Pierce just ignored him while he was making dinner. Noi felt quite hurt that Pierce just ignored him, and even when they were eating, Pierce still didn’t talk to him.

Noi’s mind: “I wonder why he’s like this all of a sudden…?”

After dinner, Noi offers to clean up while Pierce rests, he thought that maybe Pierce may be tried. But Pierce still didn’t say a word and just got up and sat himself on the couch and turned on the TV. Noi still was a bit hurt by the silence and tried clearing his mind by at least washing the dishes. After he was done, he sat himself next to Pierce and tried breaking the silence again.

Noi: “So Pierce, do you have anything in mind for Xinqui’s first birthday?”

He looked at him with hope he at least said something, but instead, Pierce just glanced at him before turning his attention back to the TV. Noi tried to hold back some tears. When their son’s cry was heard, he quickly got up to head to the nursery.

Noi: “I’ll go check on him, so you could just stay here if you like.”

Once again, Pierce didn’t speak, Noi headed to the nursery and picked up Xinqui.

Noi: “There there, you must have had a nightmare.”

He sat in the rocking chair while comforting his son.

Noi: “You’re okay, your papa is here.”

Xinqui calmed down, and Noi looked at him with a comforting smile, Xinqui reached up and touched Noi’s face.

Xinqui: “Pa!”

Noi was a bit surprised that Xinqui also said his first word.

Noi: “Yeah, I’m your papa.”

Xinqui let out a laugh before yawning, while Noi chuckled a bit.

Noi: “Now let's get you back to sleep.”

After he got Xinqui back to sleep and walked out of the room, he noticed that the TV was off in the living room.

Noi’s mind: “Did Pierce already go to bed?”

He looked at the clock and it read 10:45pm.

Noi: “I guess he did.”

He headed to their room and saw Pierce sleeping.

Noi’s mind: “I just wish he told me…”

He got ready for bed and hid his horns so they wouldn’t be in the way. Once he got into bed, he thought to himself about what if Pierce continued to just be cold towards him.

Noi’s mind: “If this keeps up, then what will happen to our happy family?” “Will I have to run away again, but then what about Xinqui…?”

He silently cried himself to sleep. Then two days went by, and things still didn’t change, Noi was thinking that it may have been his fault that Pierce was acting this way. He’s now at Aphmau’s place with Kawaii Chan, too, while Pierce is watching their son; though Pierce may act cold towards Noi, he is still a caring parent to Xinqui.
