Chapter 26

Let's rewind a little bit around when Jade teleported away, leaving everyone stunned on the ground. Pierce was trying really hard to get up, as he was thinking to himself.

Pierce’s mind: “Damn it!” “This can’t end like this!” “I need to get to them quickly!”

No matter how hard he tried to get back up, he couldn’t.

Pierce’s mind: “I still can’t move!” “If only I had told Kat about this, maybe she could have helped us!”

Speaking of Kat; she was at her home that was 12 miles away from the town. She had just finished cleaning up her place and was sitting down, reading a book while drinking a cup of tea. As she was reading, she wondered how her brother and his family were doing.

Kat: “I wonder how Pierce and his family are doing?” “Maybe I should visit them after I’m done with my tea.” “It has been a very long time since I last saw my nephew.”

She is Pierce’s adopted sister, and she did meet Noi when she came over one day, and he answered the door because Pierce went to the town for a quick errand. They got along pretty well, and she even met Xinqui when he was a few months old and when he was one year old. She was a little mad at Pierce for not telling her that he had gotten married and she became an aunt. Once she finished her tea, she put on her hat and walked out to go to her horse’s stable.

Kat: “Hey there, Gala.”

Gala is a black horse with a white star on their head. She patted Gala’s head before she took Gala out of the stable and got on the saddle.

Kat: “We’ll be heading to my brother’s place, alright, Gala?”

Gala neighed before running towards Pierce’s house. Once they made it up the hill and were close to Pierce’s house, Kat got off Gala and walked to the door and knocked. She waited for a few minutes before knocking again. She was wondering why nobody was answering, so she peeked through the window and saw nobody inside and wondered where her brother could be.

Kat’s mind: “Hm, I wonder if he had gone to the town along with Noi and Xinqui?” “Should I go there?”

She hasn't gone to the town, not even once. The reason is that 1) Her brother lives on a hill away from the town and 2) She’s very wary of new people so she doesn’t know how she’s gonna be when she meets her brother's friends. As she thought to herself, she had sensed something that ran a chill down her spine.

Kat: “I haven’t sensed anything like this before, especially after I had run into ‘him’…”

The thing is, she isn’t from Earth. She’s actually from a world called Lune Luna, and she can travel between worlds due to her magic. She can sense when something is going wrong or when someone becomes suspicious or uncomfortable about something, but she can only sense it if she isn’t too far from where it’s happening. She wasn’t able to sense it earlier due to living a bit far from the town. She became very worried.

Kat: “Is my brother in trouble or something else?!”

She got back on Gala and quickly headed towards the town, and she saw near the entrance that her brother and his friends were stunned on the ground. She became even more worried.

Kat’s mind: “What happened?!” “What could have gone down here?!”

She got off of Gala and was about to head towards her brother when she sensed something again.

Kat’s mind: “Something else's going on…” “But where?”

She told Gala to head back, and she’ll let them know when to come back. Once Gala left, she quickly headed towards where she had sensed it. The others didn’t notice her since they were stunned, and she had run past them rather quietly, so they didn’t notice. Now, back in the lab; Jade was shocked to see the shield and was trying to process what’s going on.
