Chapter 37. All's Well That Ends Well

NO ONE's POV

A few years have passed..

Haerin chuckled softly as she felt a pair of arms wrapping around her torso and someone leaning against her back. She turned around, wrapping her arms around the woman's waist as those sleepy big brown doe eyes stare into hers.

Danielle snuggled into the cradle of her wife's neck, letting out a soft hum. "Did you sleep well, my love?" Haerin asked as she gently pats her wife's head. Danielle nodded before pulling her face away to be able to place a lingering kiss on her wife's lips.

"I woke up and you weren't there," A visible frown was displayed on the woman's face. "I'm sorry, baby, but hey! I made us breakfast! Go take a seat, I'm almost done." Haerin replied happily, kissing the woman's forehead and leading her to their dining table.

Haerin continued her cooking course and made immense progress. Nowadays, she's been taking over in the kitchen as Danielle is busy with starting her own company. Today is actually Danielle's first day at her own company, a dessert company. She worked her way up and started everything from scratch, refusing any help from Haerin and her parents.

A big smile appeared on Danielle's face as her wife set down two plate of pancakes onto the table. "Thank you, baby." She said, leaning onto Haerin's shoulder.

The couple took their time to eat their breakfast and smile with each other; like there's no rush in the world. Time feels like it froze when their eyes locked into one another's gaze and unable to look away.

Danielle went upstairs to change while Haerin stayed behind, happily washing the dishes. Haerin looks very cute being wrapped around Danielle's finger. She would happily do anything for Danielle, no questions asked.

"You look beautiful, love." Haerin said as she opened the passenger door for her wife. Danielle smiled and gave her wife a peck on the lips before getting in.

"You're seriously sooo cheesy do you know that?" Danielle giggled. "You seem to love me this way so it's a win!" Haerin displayed a proud smirk as she shift into gear.

"I'll pick you up for lunch." Haerin smiled, not wanting to let go. "I'll be waiting. I love you, babe." Danielle cupped the cat's face and kissed her lovingly; a little bit of her lipstick smeared onto Haerin's lips. "Have a great day at work, sweetheart. Your first day as the big boss!" Haerin patted her wife's shoulders for encouragement.

Danielle smiled before walking away and heading into the company she's been working hard to build and start. Haerin watches with happiness and proud as her wife slowly fades out of view.

After a few seconds, she went back into the car and drove to her workplace, Kang Corporation. It took quite some time for Haerin and Danielle to gain approval from grandpa Tae as he wanted to stay stubborn. Even though he threatened to take Haerin's position away, he never actually did it.

Unfortunately, the old man died last year in his sleep. He left all of his possessions and will to Haerin and some part to charity. He also left behind a document explaining about everything circulating around the murder of Haerin's parents and the attempt to murder grandpa Tae and Haerin.

The killer was paid by one of the older rival companies that went bankruptcy after the existence of Kang Corporation. Even coming near death that old man will stay stubborn but secretly takes care of everything and protect his grandchild.

"It's rare to see you visiting me." Haerin said, chuckling a little as she looks at the woman sitting on her office's couch. "I have some time on my hands so I figured I'll go around visiting the people I don't get to see much." The woman smiled.
