"This is Ava,"- Requested

When he walked into the cozy little bookstore where I worked, my heart skipped a beat. Pierre Gasly had a magnetic presence that was impossible to ignore. With every step he took, I found myself completely mesmerized, watching him scan the shelves as if searching for hidden treasure.

"Hey there," I greeted him with a warm smile as he wandered through the aisles. "Finding everything okay?"

He turned to me with a charming grin, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "Actually, I could use a bit of help. I'm looking for a gift for a six-year-old girl. Any recommendations?"

My mind raced with possibilities as I led him to the children's section. "Well, it depends on her interests. Is she into adventure stories, fairy tales, or maybe something educational?"

Pierre pondered for a moment before replying, "I think she'd love something with a bit of magic. Maybe a story about a brave little princess?"

I nodded in understanding, pulling out a few options for him to consider. "How about these? They're some of our bestsellers and perfect for sparking a young imagination."

As we flipped through the colorful pages, our conversation flowed effortlessly, laughter bubbling up between us like a shared secret. I couldn't help but feel drawn to him, his easy charm and genuine kindness lighting up the room.

But it wasn't until I reached for a book on the top shelf that our connection truly ignited. Stretching up on tiptoes, I strained to reach it, only to feel Pierre's strong hand closing around mine as he effortlessly plucked the book from its perch.

"Here you go," he said with a playful smirk, handing me the book with a gentle squeeze. Our eyes met, and in that moment, time seemed to stand still as a rush of electricity surged between us.

"Thank you," I managed to reply, my voice barely above a whisper as I took the book from him, my fingers lingering against his for just a moment longer than necessary.

As Pierre made his purchase and I rang him up at the register, I seized the opportunity to slip a small piece of paper into his hand along with his receipt. It was a bold move, one fueled by a newfound courage I hadn't known I possessed, but I couldn't shake the feeling that he was someone special, someone worth taking a chance on.

"Here you go," I said with a coy smile, handing him his receipt. "And just in case you need any more book recommendations—or anything else—feel free to give me a call."

Pierre's eyes widened in surprise, his lips curving into a smile as he glanced down at the paper in his hand. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of excitement.

I made my way to Pierre's house, my heart fluttering with excitement. Over the past month, we had been on a handful of dates, each one filled with laughter, shared stories, and stolen glances that left my stomach in knots. Today was supposed to be no different—just a simple coffee date in the heart of the city.

But when Pierre called to say he needed to stay home to take care of something, I didn't hesitate to offer my company and a fresh cup of coffee. After all, any chance to spend time with him was a chance I didn't want to miss.

So, clutching two steaming cups of coffee in my hands, I approached Pierre's front door, my heart pounding with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. As he swung the door open, a warm smile spread across his face, melting away any lingering doubts or worries.

"Hey, come on in," he said, stepping aside to let me enter his home. But as I crossed the threshold, my eyes widened in surprise at the sight that greeted me.
