Emma ran with all she had down the road of beautiful log homes. She’s heard a few times about the rich area and the poor area of the pack’s territory. There was no in-between. All she had to do was find the one poor road. She was positive Noah would smell her.

While looking down a road, she ran into a hard body. “I know for fact my dad wouldn’t let you go,” Victor said.

Emma thought quickly. “There’s a big fight at your house. A little sliver wolf is hurt.”

“She probably wasn’t listening,” Victor said, grabbing Emma by the arm.

“A white wolf snuck in and got her good,” Emma stated in panic.

“Shift,” Victor said with authority. He let go of Emma’s arm and she backed away from him fearfully. “Shift,” he said again. He shifted into his wolf form and Emma turned to run. He pinned her to the ground and growled at her until she lost control of her body and shifted. Knowing Emma wouldn’t stand a chance to keep up he grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and ran full speed back to his house.

Victor spotted Julie, in her little silver wolf form, on the floor of the living. Two golden wolves were hastily licking at her wounds. He sniffed the air, unfamiliar with the sight of the two wolves helping the little wolf. He instantly caught the scent of his mother, and two of his aunts. Which one was which, he had no idea. He wasn’t taking the time to find out either.

He could hear the fight coming from the kitchen. His siblings stood at the top of the stairs terrified. The new nanny was desperately trying to get them to go their rooms. Victor dropped Emma and charged at the stairs, scaring his siblings down the hall to their rooms.

He went through the kitchen door and stepped between his dad and Uncle Leo. All his uncles and dad had Rodger trapped in a corner. Kane and Leo glanced down at him, acknowledging they knew he was there. They looked back to Rodger. Rodger continued to growl and show his teeth.

Victor felt the fur underneath his tail move. Victor’s seven-year-old brother, Nicolas, popped his brown and black head out from under Victor’s chest. Carter, Victor’s four-year-old brother stood tall under Kane. The puffy rust colored fur top of his head was only a foot or two shorter than Kane’s chest. One by one, all of Victor’s brothers began to pop up in any nook or cranny they could find. Each pup growled viciously at Rodger.

Kane was proud of each one of his son’s for standing up for their aunt. However, Rodger could squish each one of them, except for Victor, with his tail. Nicolas was his second oldest boy. Nicolas’ wolf was only a foot tall from the shoulders. When Caleb showed with his three-year-old brother, Austin, clumsily tripping over his large feet, Kane gave up and shifted.

Austin’s final trip landed him on top of Kane’s foot. Kane picked up his nephew by the scruff of neck and held him so his eyes were level with his. “Someday, you’ll grow into those,” he stated. He set Austin down behind him and turned to Rodger.

“Lock him in the kennel. He can run with the front line,” Kane stated. He pretty much sentenced Rodger to death. A wolf Rodger’s size with his fighting capabilities would never survive the simplest of wars.

Dan swatted Rodger, knocking him out on the first swing. Dan and Tucker dragged him away. Leo went straight to the living room by Julie. Marcus shifted. Marcus and Kane stared at their children in awe.

Caleb was the first to shift. “He followed me,” he stated, pointing at his little brother. “I didn’t know there was a fight going on until I saw the three wolves in the living room and heard you guys. I was looking for Victor.”
