📺⌇➴ Vox's POV
Vox didn't have time to react before he felt the excruciating pain in his screen. He let out a pained scream and fell back, his hands coming up to grip his screen. Everything was black, he couldn't see anything. The sensors on the left side of his screen were completely broken- he couldn't get them to work. So through the pain, he transferred the signals to the right side of his screen, and his vision finally returned.
He lifted his head and looked up at Alastor, feeling a wave of betrayal and rage flood through him as he stared at who he thought was his best friend. With his vision blurry, he couldn't see the look on Alastor's face. But he didn't care.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Vox screamed at the other, feeling blood flooding from the huge break in his screen as he held his hand against it.
His one eye began to fill with digital tears, which quickly turned into real ones as they slid down his screen. The tears only blurred his vision even more, and with the amount of pain in his head he couldn't make out whatever Alastor said- if it were anything at all.
He did, however, see Alastor's hand begin to reach out. Vox immediately lashed his own hand out, electricity sparking from it. "DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME!"
He saw Alastor jump back, and without pausing, Vox screamed at the other again. "I HATE YOU!!"
Silence fell between the two, the only sound being Vox's pained sobs as he tried to make the pain in his head stop. He lowered his head, trying to use electricity to either seal it closed or stop the bleeding. His vision was blurring more, the pain continuing to grow.
He looked up, watching as Alastor's form stood there, then turned and began walking away. Vox was immediately filled with a strong sense of betrayal as he watched his best friend walk away, leaving him there on the sidewalk, bleeding out.
"WAIT!!" Vox screamed after Alastor, both angry and terrified as he watched the man he thought he loved leave him behind. "DON'T LEAVE ME HERE!!"
He continued to scream after Alastor as the other walked, but he went silent once Alastor was out of view. He sat there in silence, his one eye wide as an overwhelming mixture of emotions flooded through him, almost overpowering the pain. His best friend- or who he thought was his best friend- just left him to bleed out. After being the cause of his pain.
He lowered his head into his hands, continuing to sob to himself as he tried to stop the bleeding again. He barely noticed the hand that settled on his shoulder as he continued to cry, but he lifted his head and looked up once he felt the touch.
He could see the familiar form of his friend, Valentino, standing in front of him. He felt Valentino's other hand reach up and wipe some of the tears and blood away, and Vox's vision cleared and saw the sympathetic look on Valentino's face.
"Oh, you poor thing," Valentino said softly as he wiped more tears off of Vox's screen. "I saw everything. I can't believe he'd do this to you."
Vox sniffed and stared up at his friend, his tears slowing as his friend helped him to his feet. He heard Valentino say a few other things, but the words didn't register in Vox's head. He looked back over in the direction Alastor had gone, his anger bubbling again, but Valentino's hand moved to turn Vox's head back towards him.
"Don't bother with him," Valentino soothed, smiling down at Vox. "You're better off without him anyways. He's just been manipulating you anyways."
"But- he wouldn't do that, right?" Vox asked, his voice shaking. He knew it was probably true, but it was hard to believe. He thought they were friends.
"That's just what he does," Valentino answered, beginning to lead Vox the opposite direction. "I'm sorry you fell for his bullshit. You don't need him."
Vox followed beside Valentino, his gaze locked on the ground as they walked. He was silent, listening to Valentino talk, his own thoughts racing. He still couldn't believe Alastor had betrayed him so horribly-
"Vox, are you listening?" Valentino suddenly said, tugging on Vox's arm slightly.
Vox lifted his head up to look back at Valentino, the movement alone making his head hurt more. When he didn't answer, Valentino sighed in annoyance but stopped walking, turning to fully face Vox.
"You don't need him, Vox," Valentino stated, staring down at Vox. "You're strong on your own."
Vox hummed a quiet "mhm" and glanced back in the direction Alastor had gone, his eye narrowing.
"We'll show him what he missed out on," Valentino said, grinning and tilting Vox's head to look back at him.
Vox stared up at Valentino, remaining silent as he thought. Then he forced a grin back, his voice low and glitching as he finally spoke.
"Fuck it. I don't need him."
Valentino's grin widened, and he nodded and held his hand out to Vox. Vox looked down at Valentino's hand, then took it, allowing Valentino to pull him along as they began walking again. Vox didn't need that old timey prick, and Valentino had always been more supportive of Vox's new lifestyle than Alastor ever was.
Vox glanced back one last time before they rounded the corner, watching as the place disappeared from view. It hurt, leaving Alastor behind, but Valentino was right- Vox didn't need him.
He was better off without him.
