📺⌇➴ Vox's POV
Alastor had left the next morning without a word, disappearing before Vox even woke up. He woke up to a silent apartment, no sign that Alastor had even gone through his morning routine of making breakfast and cleaning. Vox sighed to himself, knowing this was a sign that he had messed up. Badly.
He slowly got into casual clothing, pulling a jacket on before walking out the door without a set plan in mind. He entered the streets of Hell and was met with the familiar smoky air and loud chaos.
He turned and began walking down the sidewalk, hands shoved in his pockets, eyes straight ahead. His feet moved slow, his mind blank other than the constant repeat of the words he had said to Alastor last night.
You can't just run from something just because you're uneasy over it.
Vox couldn't understand why he let those words get out, or why he would've even thought them in the first place. Alastor was always a cautious person, but he was also just uncomfortable around most. Valentino did have a more 'intense' personality, how could Vox not see how that could make Alastor uncomfortable?
He shook his head to himself, letting out an annoyed sigh. Such simple words had struck too deep, and a heavy wave of guilt washed over Vox as he continued dragging his feet down the sidewalk, slumped over, his mouth in a tight line as he thought.
"How do I fix this?" He muttered to himself, kicking at a small rock on the sidewalk, his eyes narrowing. "I don't know..."
He continued walking, but a few moments later suddenly came to a stop. His eyes widened slightly, and a feeling of nervousness washed over him as well as hope.
Rosie knew Alastor really well, she must know how to fix something like this. She knew the right way to approach Alastor, the right way to avoid angering him more. Vox turned and started walking towards Cannibal Town, quickening his pace. As nervous as he was, he wanted to make things right with Alastor. He couldn't stand knowing he'd hurt the other man.
Within minutes he had arrived at the gates, and he walked in, looking around at the old fashioned buildings and the cannibals that walked the streets. He had always liked Cannibal Town, despite it being filled with... cannibals. It was a quieter, nicer part of Hell, and that eased Vox's anxiety.
He approached Rosie's Emporium, taking a deep breath and then walking in. He was immediately met with the smell of blood and rotting flesh- a smell he had gotten used to after living with Alastor for decades. He approached the counter, looking around and then ringing the small bell that sat on top.
Almost immediately Rosie appeared from a back room, her expression lighting up when she laid eyes on Vox. She rushed over, pulling him into a tight hug as she began speaking excitedly.
"Vox!! Oh, it's been a while!! It's such a pleasure to have you here!" Rosie pulled back and pat Vox's shoulders, smiling at him. "What brings you around? And by yourself? Where's Al?"
The multiple questions were already overwhelming Vox, but he smiled back to her, knowing he could trust her. "That's... actually why I'm here."
Rosie frowned, raising an eyebrow and putting her hands on her hips. "Oh? Do explain, dear. You've got me curious!"
Vox glanced at her then looked away, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, taking a moment to gather his words. "We... got into a bit of an argument last night, and I said something that I'm not proud of."
He glanced back at Rosie, seeing her tense but understanding expression, and he continued.
"He's really mad, I think I might have hurt him. I don't know how to fix it."
