📻 ┃⤷ Alastor's POV
It was late at night, months later, when Alastor arrived at the bar that his friend worked at. As he walked through the door, he was met with the familiar sound of upbeat jazz and the scent of liquor and cigarettes. He took a deep breath and smiled, looking around until he spotted Mimzy over at the bar counter, talking to the bartender.
Alastor walked over, waiting until her conversation was done before tapping Mimzy on the shoulder to get her attention. She turned in her seat, her smile brightening upon seeing him standing there.
"Alastor! There ya are! I've been waitin' for you!" Mimzy jumped out of her seat and hugged him.
He returned the hug for a moment before pulling away, smiling down to her. "Mimzy, my dear! It's good to see you. It's been quite some time."
"I'll say!" Mimzy let out a loud, quick laugh before sitting back in her seat and gesturing for Alastor to sit in the seat next to her. "I swear, ever since you met that box head, you've barely ever had time for your old friends!"
Alastor ordered a whiskey before turning to Mimzy, his ear flicking. "I've had plenty of time for my dear friends, darling."
"Oh, please! When was the last time you got out like this?"
Alastor picked up his glass of whiskey and took a sip, quietly thinking. It had been quite a while since he'd gone out with someone other than Vox. He looked down at the glass, before looking back at Mimzy with a smile. "I will admit, it's been a while. But I'm here now, yes?"
Mimzy let out an annoyed huff but smiled, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. I guess so."

📺⌇➴ Vox's POV
It was getting later at night and Vox was lounging around the apartment, still waiting for Alastor to get home. He was usually home by now, and Vox was beginning to wonder what was going on. He knew that Alastor could handle himself, but he was still worried.
At around 10pm he finally decided to leave, heading out the apartment door and down to the small parking lot beside their apartment, getting into their car and driving to the bar that Alastor said he was going to.
Vox parked on the street, turning the car off and getting out, stepping into the bar. He was immediately hit with the sound of jazz and the smell of alcohol. There were many demons dancing around the bar, tables full of demons playing cards or talking.
He looked around, making his way through the crowd, being careful to not accidentally bump into anyone. He then finally spotted Alastor sitting at the bar, a whiskey in can, a bunch of demons surrounding him. Some of them were laughing along with him, but there were two that were getting a bit closer to him.
Vox paused, watching, his eyes narrowing slightly. A strange feeling began to rise in his chest, and he felt the urge to push all of those demons away. Vox leaned against the wall, watching. He felt jealous that none of those demons were him, and a strange protectiveness to get the closer ones away from Alastor.
After watching for a few minutes he finally pushed off the wall, walking over and putting on a bright smile as he approached them. "Al! Hey!"
Alastor looked over at Vox, his ears perking up. His smile almost immediately brightened when he saw Vox, and he waved excitedly. "Vox!! Hi!!"
Vox smiled more, finding Alastor's excitement cute. Even if it was clear that he was drunk. Vox stood in front of Alastor, shooting a quick look at all the demons around him before speaking. "How're ya doing? You're out quite late."
"Uuuugh..." Alastor rolled his eyes, setting his whiskey down and fully turning to Vox. "Mimzy and I got a bit too drunk, then she fuckin' left me! Can you believe it?" He crossed his arms and legs, leaning back against the counter. "Had some stupid 'emergency' at her club."
Vox laughed, finding the entire situation funny. "I see. So she just ditched you here?"
"Yeah!" Alastor rolled his eyes, his expression tensing as one of the demons put their hand on his shoulder. He pushed the hand away, his ear flicking. Vox could tell he was uncomfortable being touched by others, even while drunk.
Vox shot the demon a quick glare before looking back at Alastor, his expression softening. "Come on, I'll take you home."
Alastor looked back at Vox, watching him for a moment, then sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes once more. "Fiiiiiine. If you say so." Alastor stood up, and for a moment it looked like he was going to fall over, but he regained his balance quickly.
Vox gently grabbed Alastor's arm, helping to steady him, a hint of concern rising in him as he watched Alastor stand there, off balance. Vox nodded to the other demons who had been speaking with Alastor, glaring at the two who were giving him jealous looks, and he guided Alastor out of the bar, making sure he stayed steady.
When they walked out of the front door, Vox led Alastor over to the car, going to open the passenger side for him. He paused though, watching as Alastor opened the back door and jumped into the backseat, pulling the door closed behind him and lying down on the seat. Vox let out a quiet laugh as he went around to the drivers seat, a warm feeling growing in his chest as he watched Alastor lay there, poking at the car ceiling, giggling to himself.
Vox started the car, putting it into gear and beginning to drive down the street, occasionally glancing back at Alastor through the rearview mirror. It was quiet for a while, the only sound being Alastor's quiet giggling to himself. Vox eventually spoke up, glancing at Alastor again as he drove.
"Did you have a good night?" Vox asked, his tone gentle yet playful, a wide smile on his screen as he watched Alastor.
Alastor giggled again, nodding and resting his hand on his chest. "Yeah. It was nice to get out! I forgot how fun Mimzy is to be around."
Vox chuckled, ignoring the jealous feeling he felt again. He knew he couldn't be there for every moment of Alastor's life, and that he had other friends. "Sounds like fun." He went quiet as he watched the road, noticing the new silence, and he chuckled again after a few minutes of silence. "Done giggling back there?"
There was no answer, and for a moment Vox became worried. He glanced in the rearview mirror, relaxing when he saw that Alastor had just fallen asleep. He felt the warmth in his chest grow, and his smile softened as he looked back at the road, silently driving the rest of the way home.
