📺⌇➴ Vox's POV

Vox and Alastor were taking a walk through the old woods of Hell that were hidden away behind the newer city, chatting away about their business and other little stories here and there from their past weeks. Vox was quiet as he listened to Alastor tell a funny story from the past week, of a guy who had accidentally got run over by a car while running from him. It was stupid, but still funny nonetheless.

As they walked, Vox admired Alastor- the way he carried himself with confidence, the way he looked and sounded more relaxed than ever, the tone in his voice and the giant smile on his face. Vox adored every aspect of Alastor, and he was beginning to find Alastor to be kind of cute.

Alastor was just finishing up his story when there was a loud crack behind them, causing them both to freeze in place. Vox's speakers had picked up the noise clearly, Alastor's ears also perked up.

"What was that?" Vox spoke, looking around them.

"I'm not sure," Alastor spoke, his tone sounding cautious. "Did you step on something?"

"That was too distant to be either one of us," Vox sighed, looking up in the trees. There was still nothing. He groaned and looked back around, his eyes finally landing on a sinner that was approaching them.

"Hey! What's the big deal?" The sinner shouted at them, waving a baseball bat. "You're on my property!"

Alastor's eyes narrowed, his red eyes looking the sinner up and down, his expression now annoyed as he stood beside Vox. "No one 'owns' these woods. It's-"

"-my property!!" The sinner interrupted, yelling at them. "Get outta here!!"

Vox glanced at Alastor, both sharing an amused look. They exchanged a confused look as well, as if trying to make a decision. Then Alastor's eyes went wide, his hand reaching out as if to grab something. Vox turned his head, just in time to see Alastor's hand miss the baseball bat that hit the left side of Vox's screen.

The bat went through Vox's screen, and he let out a glitchy, pained scream as he fell backwards.

Alastor immediately moved in front of him, trying to grab at the bat again, but the sinner pulled out an angelic dagger and pointed it directly at Alastor, causing him to freeze like a deer in headlights.

Vox opened his good eye and forced himself to his feet, gritting his teeth as he stood behind Alastor. His heart dropped as he spotted the angelic dagger being held by the other sinner, and he froze.

"Don't even think about summoning your little staff thing," the sinner sneered, waving the dagger slightly at Alastor. "I know how you play. You can't fool me, shitlord."

Pain shot through Vox's head, a migraine already beginning to form as sharp stabbing pains shot through his head, shooting down to his shoulders. Black blood dripped from his screen, the wires somewhat exposed.

Alastor kept a protective arm in front of Vox, keeping himself positioned between Vox and the sinner. Vox watched as Alastor narrowed his eyes, gritted his teeth, and clenched his hands into tight fists. Vox felt nervous and angry, but his body was frozen. He didn't know what to do, all he could do was watch as Alastor stood there, one small move away from getting a dagger through the heart.

There was silence, then the sinner let out a cocky laugh, his confidence evident in his cackle. At this, Alastor's arm shot up and he turned his head to the side, the end of the dagger just barely missing his jaw as he hit the sinner's arm up. His other hand reached up and grabbed the sinner's arm and he twisted, his foot hooking the sinner's ankle and easily kicking him to the ground.

Alastor then grabbed the dagger, and in one swift move he stabbed the dagger into the sinner's chest, killing him. All before the sinner could say something.

Vox stood there, his knees growing weaker. Alastor looked up just as Vox began to fall, his eyes going wide with shock as he caught Vox and stopped his fall, laying him on the ground and kneeling next to him.

"Vox!! Vox, hey, stay awake!! You're okay!!" Alastor voice rang through Vox's head, barely audible through the shooting pain and sparking sounds.

Alastor snapped his fingers, his cane appearing, then used his power to teleport them back to the apartment. Alastor hooked one arm under Vox's legs and the other behind his back and lifted him onto the couch, standing next to him.

"Hold on, just stay awake!! I'll go get your spare screen-"

There was silence as Vox barely heard Alastor's rushed footsteps out of the room. He felt his mind shutting down, and he did whatever he could to stay awake despite the pain.

A few minutes later, Alastor ran in, his voice sounding almost frantic as he spoke again.

"Vox stay awake!! No- you can't go out!! You need to help me figure out how to-"

Alastor's desperate voice was cut out as everything went silent and black, Vox's mind completely cutting out as he passed out, the pain disappearing as he no longer felt anything.
