What Lies Beyond, Chapter 12
At the General Hospital, Gabriella was in her room in bed when Lorenzo entered. "Daddy, you here?" Gabriella said. Skye came in and said, "You're both here. Daddy, I thought you were coming last night." "I was going to, but I had to handle something, and I wanted you to rest," Lorenzo replied, thinking about how he slept with Carly last night.
"Oh, Mother, what about you? You could have come," Gabriella asked.
"Yes, but just like your father says, you need to rest," Skye said.
"Yes, you did. Besides, your mother has your best interest at heart. We both do," Lorenzo added as Portia entered.
"Gabriella, I have some news. You can come home today," Portia said.
"Yes!" Gabriella exclaimed. "But I need to go over some medication with you. You have to take this on a full stomach."
"You worry I will go back to my eating disorder?" Gabriella asked.
"You've been through a lot, and drama events can trigger it," Portia responded.
"Yes, I know, but I won't go back," Gabriella assured.
"We will make sure of it," Lorenzo said.
"I'll write down all the information on your medication," Portia offered.
"Thanks," Gabriella said.
"You can get dressed and go home," Portia told her.
"Whose house am I going to?" Gabriella asked.
"Mine. We will still keep the same arrangement we had before," Skye explained.
"I'll come to see you and Lila Rae," Lorenzo added.
"Let's go, and you can get dressed. Here are your clothes," Skye said, handing them to Gabriella before leaving with Lorenzo.
"Skye, did you enjoy your date with Lansing?" someone asked.
"It's none of your business if I did," Skye replied. "We are divorced, and I'll never be with you again. I'll do whatever I have to keep my children safe."
This time, it wasn't a mob hit that shot our daughter; it was a psycho—your daughter—who did this!" Lorenzo yelled.
Skye slapped him.
