What lies beyond chapter 54
At the Quartermaine mansion, Gabriella was worried about Skye. She had never seen her mother like this before and picked up her cell phone to call Lorenzo.
At Lorenzo's place, Lorenzo was talking to his men. "I found Ava. You will never believe what she is up to," he said. "Tell me," Lorenzo said as his cellphone rang, and he saw on the ID that it was Gabriella. "Gabriella, what's the matter? I'm sure your mother has her family to take care of her," Lorenzo said before hanging up. "Now, what were you going to tell me?" Lorenzo asked. He wanted to rescue Skye but knew it was time to let her go.
At Laura's hotel, Lila Rae and Adam Jr. were having dinner together when Jr. and Brooklyn entered. "What is going on with my son and Lila Rae? Isn't she gay?" Brooklyn asked. "She likes both," Jr. replied. "Oh," Brooklyn said. "Why don't we go and say hi?" they added as they approached the table. "Adam, Lila Rae, what's going on?" Brooklyn asked.
"We are just finishing up dinner," Adam Jr. said. "Yes, I should go home and check on my sister," Gabriella said. "She was resting before I left," Brooklyn added. "Good, Adam, I had a nice time," Lila Rae said. "Me too. Why don't I walk you home?" she asked. "I have my car here," Lila Rae replied. "Alright, can I call you?" she asked. "Yes," Lila Rae said before leaving.
"Adam, what's going on?" Jr. asked. "First of all, she is my cousin." "Yes, I do. She's beautiful, and we had a nice conversation," Adam Jr. replied. "I just don't want you to get hurt," Jr. said. "I'm a grown man, father," Adam Jr. responded. "Yes, you're right," Jr. agreed.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Gabriella wasn't sure what to do with her mother when Lila Rae entered. "Lila Rae, you home? Something is going on with Mother," she said. "What do you mean?" Lila Rae asked. "She's upstairs resting, having a hard time walking," Gabriella explained. "No, that means—" Lila Rae started. AJ then came in. "Yes, your mother has been drinking," AJ said.
