What Lies Beyond Chapter 25
At ELQ-Skye's office, Skye sat at her desk looking at the paperwork about Lorenzo, lost in thought about what to do. Lorenzo entered the room.
"Lorenzo, why are you here?" she asked.
"We need to talk," Lorenzo said as he closed the door and walked past Skye's desk.
Skye got up and followed him. "We have nothing to talk about."
"I know you had a meeting with FBI agent John Cates. I hope you wouldn't say anything about me to him. Skye, didn't I mean anything to you? We have two beautiful daughters together, years of forgiveness, a relationship, and love," Lorenzo said, touching Skye's face.
"You were the first man who loved me completely and never tried to change me, and I will always love you for our children. But I can't have a relationship with you again," she responded.
"For the love of our daughters, please don't turn me in. You want the violence to end, but it won't if you give John that information. It will provoke my enemies, and things will get even worse. You're provoking men I can't protect you and our daughters from," Lorenzo warned.
Skye walked to her desk, picked up the box of information, and handed it to Lorenzo. "Do whatever you have to do."
"Thanks, Skye. This doesn't mean anything. I just want the violence to end and our daughters to be safe," Lorenzo said.
"I want that too," Lorenzo replied as he left with the boxes.
In John's office, John was talking to another FBI agent.
"So, Gabriella Alcazar is a stolen baby girl who lived in London. Do you have her biological parents' information?" John asked.
"Yes, I do. It's right here," the agent said, handing over the file.
At a hotel, Carly was looking around while Tracy watched her from inside. Lorenzo entered.
"Now that the paperwork is signed, we're done here," Carly said.
"Oh, I don't think so. You're using my money to pay for this hotel," Lorenzo responded.
"Yes, because I'm keeping a secret safe for you about Gabriella. You know, I almost told her today after our run-in. She's just like Skye. No one would even know she's not Skye's biological daughter," Carly said.
Tracy overheard this and was shocked.
