"Thank you so much for reading these books to us Mr. Thaddeus," cried one of the orphans from N.T Kids of the orphanage.
"You are welcome, Junior," Mr. Thaddeus replied as he closed up the diary of his great, great, great, great grandfather.
"I am glad that man was able to turn his life around in the end," The children shouted together.
"Yes. So am I. He was a troubled fellow, but I am glad for what he has done. Or this orphanage would not exist and I would not have the means to take care of you and many of the orphanages that now exist in this land. I am grateful for it as well," Mr. Thaddeus replied with a nod and a smile.
"What happened with your grandfather afterwards?" One of the children asked with glee.
"Well...Hmmmm.... He did not live many years after that. He became sick and passed on his wealth onto an adopted child and his uncle who worked together to keep this orphanage going and the other initiatives he started. I believe after the last letter he wrote upon this page he lived for another 10 years and tried to make up for all the things he had done. He did get married to the swords-woman as well. He unfortunately never had his own children but his last ten years despite illness I have heard were a blessing for him. He considered all of you as his legacy."
"Was he a little crazy. He sounded crazy to me," A child said as he threw a ball against a newly furnished marble floor.
"Hahahahah...Not at all. Although many thought he was when he started giving his money away. He saw the gift that our good Lord gave to us. The gift of life upon that tree. The living water and he made the decision to also do what he had read and also seen with his father, grandfather and uncle. It was a peculiar change but a good one," Mr. Thaddeus replied deep in thought.
"It is a beautiful story," One of the older children said with a grin.
"Yes, indeed it is Thomas. Like many like it, it almost seems unbelievable," Mr. Thaddeus replied.
"Especially the flying ship and magical trees."
"Yes, yes indeed. Well now. It is time to open your gifts as it is the night before Christmas. And then off to bed. We have a great big feast to enjoy tomorrow morning. Make sure you say your prayers tonight," Mr. Thaddaeus said with glee as he ushered the children into a large room with gifts and pictures of his family members on the walls.
"YAYYYYY," The children screamed as they ran over to the other room.
"Who is that?" One of the children asked as he pointed to an old painting that had been restored.
"Well, that is my great grandfather's grandfather and his grandfather on a ship. That wonderful man over there is who turned this house into an orphanage," Mr. Thaddeus replied as he sipped some hot herbal tea.
"The stories are true???" The child whispered with eyes a glow.
"If you can believe it. Now go on and open your presents. We have a long and joyful day ahead of us."
