Chapter 14 -
I waited until the school had gone quiet and most of the students had left before heading towards the gym alone as I told my brothers to go home even though they didn't want to. I had just simply told them that it was a chat and we all knew that it may not turn out that way, and I could killed. I entered the building and the closed the door behind me silently and pulled my gun out of my jeans. I drew it up close to me and headed towards the main gym; I pushed open the door quietly and stepped inside looking all around me checking my surroundings. I had finished my inspection when I heard someone approaching me from the far corner of the gym. I drew up my gun and held it defensively, it was my only weapon.
"Who's there?" I called and I heard a chuckle.
"There is no need for weapons Alex; I am not going to harm you." The instructor stepped out from the shadows and towards me.
"How do I know that?" I questioned and he frowned.
"You don't." He replied and I frowned. He was a true assassin alright.
"Who are you?" I asked curious. I knew that I had seen him before, but I wasn't sure where.
"My name is Mr. Lewis, but you may know me as Derek." I gasped. He was the one who had taught me, he was my old mentor.
"Derek! How good to see you." I said smiling and he smiled too and I relaxed and put the gun to my side.
"How have you been doing Alex?" He asked and I smiled. He had quit a few years ago as he didn't want the pressure to be on your toes all the time and he just wanted to find love and grow old. It seemed really stupid to all of us and he lost a lot of respect when he left.
"I have been doing fine thanks." I said grinning and he didn't reply. He was just simply looking at me, he then concentrated back on me.
"Well that's good."
"Have you finished inspecting me now?" I said irritated and Derek laughed.
"I was seeing how many scars you had picked up after I had left and by the look of it. Not many." It was my turn to laugh this time.
"Oh there are loads. They are just covered up that's all." Derek seemed shocked.
"Covered up?" He seemed surprised by the idea and I laughed again.
"You haven't heard about the new improved assassin conclear? It covers up most of the scars that you on your face. It is brilliant!" I said beaming and Derek cocked his head to one side taking it all in. We talked for a long time about the agency and not once did Derek ask if I was still there for which I was grateful. I knew that he retired but I still wasn't going to take my chances. When the windows started to get dark I stood up.
"I should get going, my brothers are gonna wonder where I went." I said smiling as I thought about them worrying. Derek smiled and stood up and shook my hand.
"It was nice seeing you again Alex."
"Yeah it was good to see you too." I replied and shook his hand back. I turned towards the door but Derek stopped me.
