The Teenage Assassin Chapter 18

Chapter 18 -

We were all sat in Sam's office watching him carefully. No one was saying a word while Sam poured himself a drink, we were all on high alert and we were ready to take him down. He finished and turned to face us.

"So you have a problem?" He seemed oblivious to our tenseness and we definitely had a problem alright. Jock was the first to speak to up.

"Yeah we all are having the same problem with one of the guns." He seemed so calm which was something that I was not right now.

"Okay, what the problem?" Sam asked and we all blanked. We had not thought of that. Lucy saved the day though.

"The reloading time is off. We can't load quickly enough with the gun." She sighed as if it was a huge problem. Good old Lucy, she always knew what to say.

"I see." Sam mused.

"Can we have some new guns ordered and see if they are any better and maybe you can come and test them with us." I said cheerfully. It was the perfect way to kill him. Take him to the practice area and fire an accidental shot. Genius.

"I can't see why not." Sam said taking a sip. I smiled.

"We will let you get on with your work then." Jock said and we all got up to leave.

"Alex. I want to talk to you about your next job." I tensed but smiled.

"Sure." Everyone left and I sat down in one of the big comfy chairs.

"What's up?" I asked, even though I knew what was coming.

"I want you to go and kill your family tonight." I gulped.

"Tonight?" I asked sounding a little hoarse.

"Yes, tonight. Is there a problem?" He asked smiling slightly. Did he know that I was planning to kill him?

"No, not at all I just thought that I wasn’t ready that’s all. I thought that I might need more training." I said trying not to freak out. I couldn’t go and kill them tonight!

"No. I think that you are ready and I want it done tonight." He said firmly.

"Yes Sam. Is it okay if I bring Lucy with me as I think that it will have a better chance of taking them all down if they think that there is only me." I tried looking calm but on the inside I was screaming. He paused in his drinking and looked at me.

"Do you think that will be good idea?"

"Yeah I think so as they won’t realize what hit them if there are two. I will distract and she will kill." I said firmly. Sam seemed to ponder it and then nodded.

"I think that you’re right. The quicker you take them down the better." I nodded.

"Well I better be going then as I will need to prepare." I said standing up and heading towards the door.

"Yes, I think that’s best and Alex?" He called after me and I turned to face him.

"Yeah?"

"Ben is coming back today and I also want him to help you with the job." He said smoothly.

"What? I didn’t think he was coming back for another three months!" I choked out. Sam shrugged.

"Well when he heard that you were kidnapped and have returned, he wanted to see if you were alright and to see if your training was up to scratch." I paled. Ben, my kick ass mentor was coming back to help me with a job that I had no intention of carrying out. Shit!
