Chapter 10 –

I awoke strangely alert to a room that white and had pink accesories. Where the hell was i? I sat up and looked around trying to remeber what happened. The kidnap! Someone called Rich had came and tok me away from the agency. I frowned, why did i go with him? I shrugged and got up and headed for the door and opened it. i peered out and looked down the huge hallway and stepped out when i saw that it was empty. I walked along the hallway and followed the growing noise that was comming form the end of the hallway. I reached the end and came to soem stairs that led down to the ground floor. I stood still and tried to listen to what was going on. I could hear people shouting and they were obviously arguinig. Egar to know more, i stepped down a few stairs until i could hear what was being said. It was a woman and a man. The woman was shouting first, and by the sound of it, they were arguing about me.
"Rich! Do you know how much danger she is in now? And the danger that we are in? You should never have gone to her like that! They are all gonna be out looking for her!" I nodded silently with the woman agreeing. Of course the agency were goning to be looking for me. Agents don't get kidnapped.
"Stop being so dramatic mom! You said it yourself that you wanted her back home and now she is home!" Rich snapped back. I frowned, my home was the agency and why would this woman want me?
"Yes i wanted her back but i didn't want it done this way! She is going to hate us and we are going to lose her to them. They have been the influence of her life for many years, she isn't going to give it up that easily Rich. You should have joined the agency and be with her and made sure that she made the righ choice and want to leave, not storming in there and kidnapping her." I nodded silently again, this woman was very good whoever she was. I heard Rich sigh in frustration.
"Well i will take her back then before she wakes up then." I froze and listened for footsteps.
"Rich don't be ridiculous! You can't take her back, the agency will be on high alert and if they see you with her they will take you down." There then was silence.
"Well, what are we going to do then?" Rich finally asked the woman. It was her turn to sigh.
"I don't know Rich, i really don't know. Let's just wait until she wakes up." There was then silence and then i heard cupords being opened and closed. I was then very aware that there was someone standing behind me. I moved my hand along to the back of my trousers and spun around facing the man and holding my knife at the same time. He seemed taken off guard and held his hands up.
"Whoa, calm down. There is no need to use violence Alex." How did this guy know my name? I made my way down the stairs backwards and when i reached the bottom the guy sighed and made his way towards me. I backed up further.
"What do you want with me and how do you know my name?" I growled. The guy chuckled.
"You're just as stubborn as ever and cautious i see." He smiled and i frowned.
"What are you talking about?" I demanded. "Don't come any closer if i were you if you value your life." I warned and the man stopped.
"You wouldn't hurt me." He seemed confident about this.
"I wouldn't b so sure. I have killed hundreds of people so your not my first." I said staring him down. I heard the cupords stop being moved about and footsteps comming closer.
"Alex, stop being absurd, put the knife down." The guy said clearly upset now.
"Don't come any closer." I warned as he took a step foreward.
"Please put the knife down Alex." The man's eyes kept flickering towards the open door at the end of the hallway, but i nvere took my eyes of him. Suddenyl i heard a woman shriek and i cringed from the sound. I looked at the woman who was at the doorway and behind her was Rich and he looked surprised. I heard a floor board creak and i turned to see that the guy was getting closer.
"I warned you." I growled and lunged at him tacking him to the floor. He pushed me off him and attempted to pin me to the ground. I brought the knife up and slashed his arm. He fell backwards howling in pain and i jumped up looking down at him smiling.
"Told you." I said smiling. Suddenly arms grabbed me from behind and knocked the knife from my hand and it slid accross the floor. Shit. Not good. I used my weight to len back and flip over Rich and land on the floor neatly which i was pleased with. I took a step back and the woman had stopped shreiking and was making her way over to me. I put up a hand and she stopped.
"Don't come near me, any of you." I said eyeing the guy on the floor who was clutching his bleeding arm. They all had stopped and was staring at me.
"They have brainwashed her." The woman said sadly to Rich.
"I told you didn't i?" He replied just as sad.
"No one has brainwashed me. What are you all talking about and who are you people?" I demanded. I was started to get very scared as i didn't know where i was and my knife was nearer to them then me.
"You don't remember me?" The woman said comming closer while i took a step back.
"Should i?" I asnwered her question with my own question.
"No i suppose you don't and i wouldn't expect you to not after everything." The woman sighed.
"What are you talking about?" I demanded. Why would i remember them? I had never seen them before in my life. I was getting very frustrated and confused. They knew me but i didn't know them. Why? The woman started to cry and i felt bad.
"Rich, you have to tell her." The woman sobbed and Rich went over to her and hugged her. He then looked at me.
"You probably won't believe this but i am your brother and this is your aunty Lisa and that's Harry over there." He said looking at the bleeding guy on the floor who had stopped caring for his arm and was looking at me. I looked at them all confused. I couldn't make the conncetion. I looked at the woman last and it was like i was looking in the mirror, she looked like me but only older. The two guys also had the same eyes as me. I shook my head, this couldn't be right. Why woul they kidnap me, surely they would be on the same side as Sam and my mother? I looked at them again and sighed in frustration.
"Why aren't you with my mother then? I would have thought that you would be with her trying to keep me from escaping." Lisa looked up at me and sighed and i was thankful that she had stobbed crying.
"Me and your mother haven't gotten on since you kids were born. I hated that she wanted to put you into the agency and be like her, it made me furious and so when Harry and Rich were young i broke into the agency and tokk them away from it and raised them as my own, they live normal lives and i have tried many times to come and get you but they agency were onto and so was your mother. They would know that i was comming and send you away on jobs abroad so i couldn't get you." I stared at her and blinked. Was she serious? My brothers had normal lives while i fought for my life on each job i went on. Could i have a normal life?
"I then broke into the agency with a group of people who want their relations away from the agency and we came and got you. I couldn't let you suffer there no more Alex. I wanted my baby sister and i wanted her safe." Rich said releasing Lisa and comming towards me. I shook my head. It was too much, all too much. I then let my anger take over as i couldn't become attached to them. I was attched to no one.
"I can't do this! I can't have a normal life as i don't know how to and the agency are going to be looking for me and turning every rock. They won't stop until they find me and i wouldn't be surprised if they haven't found me already and are on their way to get me." I shouted taking another step back and my back came into contact with a wall. Rich smiled at me.
"Of course you can have a normal life, we will teach you and you will love it and we will make sure that the agency won't find you. Alex you are free from that life and you can start all over away from that. Can't you see that?" Rich said desprately and i watched as Harry stood up, he looked at me and smiled.
"We want our baby sis to be happy that's all. We want you to have a normal life and enjoy it instead of being trapped at the agency and haveing a life where you have to watch your back 24/7." I simply stared at them speechless. Could i have a normal life? I would sure love one and i and been thinking of ways of getting away from the agency for a few months. I could go to school and not have to worry about my cover being blown and i could go to the mall and buy clothes and not worry about trying to take people down and i could also have a group of friends where i wouldn't have to worry about back checking them and making sure that they didn't want to kill me. Harry and Rich smiled as they knew what i was thinking and reached a hand out to me. I looked down at it and back to them.
"If you take it, we promise that you will have a normal life and we will protect you from the agency. It has been done before Alex, we are part of a group where we rescue peeople like you so you can have a normal life with relatives and it works. The agency has never been able to track them down." Harry said never taking his eyes off mine.
"There will be no more secrets either." Lisa said fianally and when i looked at her i knew i had made my choice. I took Rich's waiting hand he pulled me into a tight hug.
"Welcome home baby sis." He whispered as i wondered if i had really made the right choice.
