O L I V I A
Feeling the soft material of the bed covers on my body along with the fragrance of the older man, was heavenly to wake up to.
I don't remember the last time I slept this well without tossing or turning.
Everything around me felt like a dream come true as my eyes were shut, not allowing the sunlight to meet them.
This moment felt truly perfect, but the only flaw was the muffled yelling behind the closed door of the bedroom.
The voices of people arguing outside Mr. Everett's bedroom door made me wanna yell at them to argue somewhere else.
However, this wasn't my home, yet.
I was half awake in a dazed state of mind because of the comfort I was experiencing from the bed.
The comfort of sleeping in a bed, which was worth more than I will ever be worth in life, is truly something I won't forget, and I don't want to take it for granted.
But the yelling behind the closed doors were not allowing me to enjoy my peace.
"How dare you allow another woman to sleep in your bed?!" A sentence that startled me out of my half-asleep state.
"You're a cheater! You cheated on me with her?!" The woman's yelling outside the bedroom door became clearer by the second.
I opened my eyes without allowing them to adjust to the sunlight because my dear mother was standing and shouting outside the bedroom door.
"And who was it that put her in that dangerous room that was under construction? Your sister could have killed her." Mr. Everett's voice was harsh, but he wasn't yelling like Eleanor.
"She harmed her wrist. I needed to call the doctor at 6 in the morning!" The man argued with his wife. The hostile tone, didn't go unheard.
"That devil put a hand on my sister, your sister-in-law!" Eleanor's voice was filled with uncontrollable rage.
"Then we should have talked it out like adults." The man found a simple solution, as his voice was still harsh.
"You should have come and told me. Not put Olivia in that dangerous hall, that was childish of you." He tried explaining to his wife, who fell deaf to his words.
The woman was darkly chuckling, not believing in her husband's words. "If it was your daughter who was in danger, then you would have kicked that woman out."
"But it's not your daughter, instead it's my sister that was abused in a home, WE welcomed her to!" Eleanor was close to shedding fake tears.
What did she mean by abusing her sister? It wasn't like I got into a boxing match with my aunt and started throwing punches.
And my aunt was the one wanting to hit me first.
I just gave the trash a piece of their own medicine.
"Your sister can be too much." He admitted, his voice stern.
"I asked Kieran and he told me the girl couldn't relax because your sister was watching her like a hawk," The man added.
Kieran noticed that? Wow.
"Kieran's up your ass all the time, only because his father died last year." She was mocking Kieran, and his late father.
That was a very low blow.
"What did you say?" The man's voice was low, almost like a whisper.
"I said what I said." She slammed her fist on the bedroom door.
