O L I V I A
Hours passed by like the water from a river as it was already evening which meant the ball was occurring in three hours.
Throughout the day, I managed to confirm the death of the doctor's daughter.
Her case of being raped and murdered was overlooked by the police, as they closed the case without any proper investigation.
Bastards.
Sam, the daughter of the doctor, attended the same college Gabriel Everett did. She had lived in a dorm room in the same city I'm currently living in.
I was just a year late for her, as the internet had told me enough.
I searched up her name and the name of the prestigious college. Then I got a very few searches of Sam's case and that was concerning.
It was 31st October now and the reports on the news sites showed me that Sam died last year during the summer, outside the college grounds.
On the reports it stood that she was murdered by a stabbed wound to the stomach, nothing else.
On the other hand, in the documents, Richard, the doctor had given me. There were pictures of her in a brutal state, unrecognizable beyond repair, as her final moments must have been the most horrific in her life.
Not something that could be caused by a single stab to the stomach, instead it looked like she had been stabbed over a hundred times with the knife, all over her body.
Sam's death was also around the time I met Gabriel Everett in the library after being thrown out from Mr. Everett's mansion. It was during the summer since the spring had passed, and I had set my slow plans to meet Gabriel.
During that period, Sam had recently died, and I had just entered the city for the first time in my life.
That could not be a coincidence.
I groaned at the many plot holes and twists, but one thing I knew was that this document was not my curse but my blessing.
Not the blessing of Sam dying, but the blessing of the knowledge how twisted my mother was to murder her accomplice daughter.
For now, I have two things in my mind, revenge and to uncover the truth about the death of the doctor's daughter, Sam.
I shot a quick glance at the digital clock on my desk as the ball was nearing, and I had to prepare myself for the ball.
As I had been examining each document after coming back from the doctor, and confirming if they were fabricated, which they were not.
But If I wanted to come in time for the masquerade ball, I would need to get ready now, since it was soon for the ball.
I closed the document files as I realized Eleanor's twin daughters had been right under my nose the entire time, but they weren't attending the high school near Gabriel's college anymore.
Last thing I heard about them was that they lived with their father as the man had sued Eleanor, and taken them across the country.
At least they were safe from her clutches from now on.
Gabriel, Eleanor and Sam, all of them were extremely close to one another.
I laughed at myself, feeling utterly stupid.
Gabriel and Sam attended the same college. Eleanor's twin daughters have a connection with Sam, and Eleanor has a connection with Gabriel since she's married to his uncle, Mr. Everett.
