O L I V I A
It was quiet as we ate our meal in the hotel room while the morning sun began to rise. We ate at the table next to the window which was showing the view of the entire city.
Kieran sat in front of me, forcing down the food on his plate because he seemed to have no appetite, and I didn't blame him.
Hours had passed again, and now it was close to 7 AM.
I was tired and drained after Gabriel's visit, but also Kieran's silence as he hadn't spoken a word to me, only cried in my arms.
Kieran looked pale, almost sick, as he ate his breakfast since we had ordered room service. The bacon and eggs with sausages on his plate became less and less, as he forced the food on himself.
"Don't force the food down," I said in a gentle tone.
"I'm not." He forced another piece of bacon down his throat, then another one, like he tried suffocating himself on the food.
"Kieran-"
"You're Eleanor's oldest daughter?" He asked, the feelings of confusion leaking from him.
"You look nothing alike, you are so different, it's hard to believe." He expressed his utmost confusion.
"And Gabriel murdered my father because of his lover?" Kieran laughed.
But his eyes were red from the tears, he had earlier sobbed in my embrace after Gabriel left because his brother had killed his father.
He was conflicted and in pain, but he hadn't left my side yet after finding out the truth, maybe he would sooner or later?
I stared down at my own plate which only consisted of a croissant as its crumbs were a bit splattered all over the plate.
I also seemed to have no appetite and felt like I was living in a daze.
When Kieran was crying in my arms, I emotionally couldn't be present for him, but my body had a life of its own as it comforted Kieran by embracing him with my arms, but still in my mind I was gone.
Kieran had finished forcing down the food on his plate, and he finally asked, "Can you explain everything to me?"
"Are you really her daughter?" I looked up from my plate and was met by his brown eyes that were still red.
"No." I muttered, not realizing that he had actually asked me a question, since I thought I had imagined it.
Kieran frowned, bewildered at my short answer.
"I'm her daughter, by blood, but to me, she isn't my mother." I explained to him why I had answered with a 'no'
"I'm also here for a reason, the reason is that I want revenge because she destroyed me and others." I told him as my voice was in a daze.
"Revenge?" Kieran seemed concerned for me, but he stayed and listened to my explanation.
"Ever since the beginning, I was only here for revenge against Mrs. Everett, my mother." I said, "The charity event, until now, it all has been for my revenge."
Kieran placed more food onto his plate, and started to force food down his throat again.
This must be his own coping mechanism whenever he feels anxious.
"I used you to get inside the charity event because my plan was to seduce Mr. Everett and take everything from my own mother. Her success, her life, her joy, all that was brought by her husband." I confessed, sounding more like Gabriel, but without the hatred.
