As night fell, the campsite was filled with the lively sounds of music and the inviting aroma of barbeque. Richard and Alice took charge of the grill, cooking up a feast for everyone, while the rest of the group relaxed around the bonfire. The warm glow of the fire and the soft strumming of a guitar set the perfect backdrop for an evening of enjoyment.

Noah, ever the opportunist, saw this as the perfect moment to have some fun. He grabbed Ann's hand with a laugh, pulling her towards an open space near the fire. "Come on, Annie, let's show them how it's done!" he exclaimed, his enthusiasm infectious.

Ann, caught up in the spirit of the moment, chuckled and allowed herself to be led into an impromptu dance. They moved to the rhythm of the music, their laughter mingling with the tunes.

Elizabeth, sitting near the fire, watched them dance. She felt a surge of jealousy and irritation wash over her as she saw how easily Noah held Ann's hand, how they seemed to move together in sync. She tried to focus on the music and the others around her, but her eyes were inevitably drawn back to Ann and Noah.

The sight of them dancing so carefreely, the way Noah seemed to effortlessly have Ann's attention, stirred a feeling in Elizabeth she couldn't quite shake off. It was a mix of envy and a sense of longing, a desire to be the one dancing with Ann under the starlit sky.

Elizabeth's mood shifted as she watched them, her heart feeling heavier with each laugh and spin she observed. The joyous atmosphere around the bonfire contrasted sharply with the tumult of emotions she was experiencing, leaving her feeling a bit out of place amidst the revelry.

After the dance, Ann made her way back to the bonfire, her eyes immediately seeking Elizabeth. She approached with a gentle smile, one that carried a depth of affection and sincerity. Sitting down beside Elizabeth, she turned to her, her concern evident in her tone.

"Beth, you sure you're warm enough? This night is getting cooler," Ann asked gently, her concern for Elizabeth's comfort evident in her voice.

Elizabeth, feeling a comforting sense of closeness to Ann, nodded slightly. "I'm okay, but a little extra warmth is always welcome," she replied, her voice low and touched with affection.

Understanding the cue, Ann reached behind her and brought out a large, cozy blanket. She unfolded it with care and draped it over both their shoulders, drawing Elizabeth closer to her. The blanket enveloped them in a shared warmth, creating an intimate space amidst the larger group.

Under the blanket, their sides pressed together, Elizabeth felt a wave of contentment wash over her. "Thank you, Ann. This is really nice," she said, her voice soft, almost a murmur.

Ann turned towards Elizabeth, their faces inches apart under the shared blanket. "I just want to make sure you're having a good time. Are you enjoying the trip so far?" she asked, her tone earnest and filled with a quiet intensity.

Elizabeth met Ann's gaze, her heart beating a little faster at the closeness. "Yes, I am, Ann. Thank you for showing so much concern."

After Elizabeth expressed her appreciation for Ann's thoughtfulness, Ann noticed something lingering in Elizabeth's expression. She decided to gently probe a bit deeper.

"It's great to hear you're enjoying yourself," Ann said with a soft smile. "You seemed a bit... I don't know, distracted when I was dancing with Noah. He can be a bit much sometimes, can't he?"

Elizabeth, caught off guard by the mention of Noah, replied somewhat hastily, "Oh, well, yes, you two seemed quite comfortable out there. He was getting all touchy with you."

Ann, picking up on the subtle shift in Elizabeth's tone, asked with a hint of amusement, "Are you jealous, Beth?"

Elizabeth's cheeks flushed with a mix of embarrassment and denial. "Jealous? Why would I be jealous?" she retorted, her defensive tone betraying the very feeling she was trying to dismiss.
