It had been a week since Anne arrived in Germany. She walked alongside Richard, her eyes scanning the vibrant stalls packed with local crafts and delicacies. With each item she picked up, a soft smile touched her lips, her thoughts drifting back to Beth.
"Annie, you've already bought half the market!" Richard teased. "Let me guess, this one's for Beth too?"
Anne held up a delicate handcrafted necklace, the sunlight catching its intricate details. "Everything I see makes me think of her," she confessed. "If I could, I'd bring the whole market back just to see her smile."
Richard chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "You're so whipped," he said affectionately. "Have you managed to send any letters to her? Or...?"
Anne's expression shifted, a shadow passing over her face. "No, I haven't written anything. There's too much risk of them getting into the wrong hands. Instead," she patted her satchel, "I'm keeping a journal. I'll give it to her when I get back."
"That thick book you've been writing in? That's for Beth?" Richard asked, his tone mixing curiosity and teasing.
Anne nodded. "Yes, I brought it along because I wanted to read it. But now, I think I'll wait and read it with her. It feels right to experience it side by side."
As they continued through the market, Anne picked up various items—a book of local poems, a small painting of the market itself, and some gourmet chocolates—each chosen with Beth in mind. Richard watched his sister, a smile playing on his lips as he saw the love she carried with her, a love that filled every space, even thousands of miles away from its counterpart.
"Tell me, how much do you miss her?" Richard asked softly as they paused to enjoy a cup of coffee at a small café overlooking the bustling market.
Anne looked out over the crowd, her eyes distant but her voice full of emotion. "More than words can tell. I wonder how crazy in love I am. I just can't stop thinking about her at all."
Richard reached across the table, squeezing her hand. "She's lucky to have someone who loves her so fiercely," he said.
Anne squeezed back, her heart full despite the distance. "I'm the lucky one," she replied.
As they sipped coffee, Richard leaned in, a twinkle of curiosity in his eyes. "Hey, speaking of which, did Beth like that ring you gave her? What was her reaction?"
Anne's face lit up at the memory, a gentle smile spreading across her lips. "She loved it, Richie. You should have seen her face—it was like I'd given her a piece of the moon."
Richard chuckled, pleased by his sister's success in bringing joy to Beth. "That's awesome. It's not every day you see someone as reserved as Beth light up like that."
"Yeah," Anne agreed, her smile tinged with a hint of melancholy. "It felt like a real moment, you know? A promise that no matter what, we have something special. I just hope she can hold onto that feeling, especially now with us being apart."
Richard nodded, understanding the weight of Anne's words. "I feel so good, seeing my little Annie so happy."
"I am, Richie. Happier than ever!" Ann smiled, her thoughts, once again, drifting towards Beth.

In a sleek conference room, Anne and Richard sat across from Mr. Weber, the key contact for their project in Germany. The room was filled with the low hum of discussion about logistics and projections, but the atmosphere was pleasant, with light streaming through large windows, illuminating the array of documents and laptops spread out on the table.
