As Beth stepped into the practice arena, a warmth enveloped her, a stark contrast to the coolness of the evening air outside. The setting sun bathed the space in a golden glow, reminiscent of the day Ann had first shown her the art of knife throwing. That memory, filled with laughter, admiration, and a shared thrill, lingered in the air, making the arena feel alive with echoes of the past.

Looking around, Beth expected to see Ann waiting for her, but the arena was seemingly empty. She began to wander through the space, her eyes glancing over the racks of knives and various tools. Her heart raced with the memory of Ann's precision and grace, the way her arm moved in a dance of strength and finesse, the knife always finding its mark.

Just as she reached the center of the arena, where the light from the setting sun was the strongest, Beth felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist from behind. The sudden warmth and the familiar scent that accompanied the embrace immediately calmed her, bringing a smile to her lips.

Before she could turn around, she felt the soft press of flowers against her arm. Glancing down, she saw a bouquet of tulips and white orchids cradled in the arms that encircled her. The choice of flowers, so thoughtful and beautiful, made her heart swell with love.

"Was the wait as excruciating for you as it was for me?" Ann's voice, husky and close, whispered into her ear, each word sending shivers down Beth's spine.

With the biggest smile and an undeniable warmth in her voice, Beth replied, "More than you could ever imagine. It felt like an eternity."

Ann, her chin resting gently on Beth's shoulder, breathed in the moment. "I can't believe I'm holding you like this... It feels so... complete," she confessed, placing a soft kiss on Beth's shoulder, "I missed you so much."

Beth felt her knees weaken, overwhelmed by the intensity of their connection. She turned within the embrace to face Ann, their eyes locking in a moment charged with emotion. "And I, you," Beth replied, her voice a whisper.

Holding the bouquet out to Beth with a gentle smile, Ann's voice softened to a tender, playful tone, "For you, my heart. May these flowers remind you of this moment, us, and... how every second away from you feels like an eternity."

Grasping the bouquet with both hands, Beth's eyes lit up. She glanced at Ann, her voice filled with warmth and a touch of playful sarcasm, "An eternity, huh? Well, in that case, these flowers better be immortal. Because that's how long I want to keep feeling this way about us."

Ann leaned in closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief and affection, "Immortal flowers for an eternal love. Hmm... I like the sound of that. But just to be safe, I'll find new ways to remind you, every day, just how endless this feeling is."

"I'm quite curious about those new ways," Beth teased.

In response, with a swift, deliberate motion, Ann pulled Beth closer, eliminating any space that remained between them. Their bodies aligned perfectly, the contact sending waves of electricity through both of them. "Perhaps I could start showing you now," Ann suggested, her voice low and husky.

Beth, her heartbeat thundering in her ears, managed a whisper that carried the weight of her desire. "There's nothing I'd want more." she admitted, her breath warm against Ann's skin.

Ann's thumbs gently caressed the soft skin of Beth's neck, moving in slow, deliberate circles that sent shivers down Beth's spine. "This," Ann breathed out, her voice thick with emotion, "this moment, I've imagined it more times than I can count."

Beth's response was a soft sigh, her eyes reflecting the deep pools of emotion she felt. "You don't have to dream anymore," she breathed out, her hands finding their way to Ann's back, pulling her even closer. "I'm here, and I'm yours. Every beat of my heart belongs to you."
