As soon as I walked inside of our room the girls jumped of off their beds and ran over to me.

"Charlie!"

"Are you okay?"

"What happened Charlie?!"

Sonya reached me first. She wrapped her arms around me and let out a relieved sigh.

I hugged her back tightly but not as enthusiastically.

Harriet stood a few meters away from us. She raised her eyebrows at me in a questioning way and I nodded at her, silently telling her that I was fine.

Sonya let go of me and searched my face for any sign of pain or injury.

When she didn't find anything she smiled at me sadly.

"What happened?"

I looked over at the other girls, all waiting for me to tell them about my punishment.

"I'll tell you later, alright?"

"Okay."

I won't.

After half an hour of reassuring everyone that I was okay and dealing with an upset Rachel, I finally got some alone time.

I knew it wouldn't last long because Sonya's brother and his friends would visit later, so I quickly jumped onto my bed and crawled under the blanket.

I sighed and closed my eyes. It had been a quite eventful day.

I already decided not to tell Sonya the details on what happened even though I promised. She was a very empathetic person and I didn't want her to worry about me.

I could deal with it on my own. Like I always did.

My thoughts drifted to the promise I made Sonya. To find a way she could visit her brother more often.

It would've all been a lot easier if Newt would just tell Sonya how they got from their part of the compound to ours, but he didn't want Sonya to be in danger so he kept it a secret.

I didn't need his help to find a way.

It would be more dangerous from now on. For me specifically. I hadn't decided if I wanted Sonya to risk anything yet.

I should stop worrying and sleep instead. It didn't make any difference anyway. But the second I closed my eyes a loud knock on the door made me jump up.

They were here.

Since it was Sonya's birthday I believed they would stay longer. Maybe I got to talk to one of them.

I only knew Newt. When they visited I usually avoided them and stayed in my bed for a bit so I never talked to the other guys.

They were always the same people. Two boys at Newt's age. An asian boy with styled hair and a dark skinned boy with- well without hair.

But this time it was different. There were four boys rushing into the room. Newt, the spicy hair kid, the bold guy and-

My heart skipped a beat. It was the boy from earlier. The one who saw me in the hallway.

I didn't notice Kiara sneaking up on me until she whispered something into my ear and I nearly slapped her.

"See the boy over there, that's one of the geniuses who get special treatment."

"Jesus, Kiara! Don't sneak up on me like that."
I moved away from the girl and gave her a pointed look.

She snickered at me in response.
