They had brought me to the doctor.

Now my hand kind of looked like Rachel's. For some reason I found that thought very funny so I laughed.

The woman that had treated my wounds glanced at me weirdly and then continued doing who knows what on her computer.

I was sat on a medical bed and I was pretty sure they had given me some kind of drug that numbs the pain and maybe also works in a calming way.

It made my feelings feel more extreme. Sadly it were mostly the bad ones.

I wondered when Kiara would come back.

"You're all done." The doctor patted my shoulder without looking at me. "Don't write or move your hand to much. You're teachers will be informed."

I nodded.

So no consequences?

"You can go."

And she didn't have to tell me twice. I jumped off the bed and made my way out of the room.

The others would ask me what happened. Or worse, they would ignore it.

I was better off visiting Thomas. Though he was acting strange lately too. What the hell was up with everyone?

Anyway, dinner first.

It was friday. Soup day. Drew day.

"Drew!"

I ran up to the guard who was standing in the doorframe of the dining hall.

He didn't look surprised, just tired.

"Hey, kid."

"Do you know what happened to Kiara? Where is she? Why isn't she coming back?"

He didn't answer so I kept going.

"The guard, is he dead? What did the chancellor say?"

He muttered something under his breath, looking at the ground.

"What?"

After a short look around his eyes found mine again.

"Charlie, I'm sorry but I have no idea where your friend is. I do know that He is dead and in my opinion that's a good thing." He took a breath. "Sadly that isn't everyone's opinion."

I felt like crying all over again. No one was able or willing to give me any information about Kiara's whereabouts.

"Shit." I cursed under my breath and sat down at an empty table near the entrance.

Rachel, Sonya, Harriet and some others were sitting at the other end of the hall. They didn't call me over, but I could sense both Sonya and Harriet glancing at me now and then.

I simply acted like I hadn't seen it and ate my dinner even though I had no appetite at all.

"Charlie."

My head shot up at the girl standing next to my table. I had zoned out and not noticed her.

Harriet held her tray of food in her hands, hair up in a ponytail as always and a worried expression on her face.

"Yes?"

She swallowed.

"Are you okay?"

What a stupid question.

"No. You?"

"Not really. None of us are...But we would like to sit with you and talk again. It's not healthy to bottle it all up."
