WEEK TWO: WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26th, 1994
After mulling over the conversation he had with Athena last week, Michael couldn't hold back his questions anymore, "Please tell me—for Pete's sake, he better—please tell me that he at least shows you affection. If you're the one up at the crack of dawn to make money for his behind, he's at least showing you affection, right?"
Athena furrowed her brows, tilting her head in confusion as her eyes scanned the page of the book she was reading, "What's affection?"
Michael's jaw dropped, "Are you joking?" he asked incredulously.
"No," Athena said in confusion, "What's affection? You're acting like it's something that people experience every day—but I don't know what you're talking about."
Michael shook his head and scooted closer to her, "Here, sit up," he gently urged, motioning for her to sit properly on the couch.
Athena gracefully spun around into an upright position, "What the heck are you talking about?"
Michael slowly reached up and gently cupped one side of her face, "Does he do this?" he asked, softly running his thumb along her cheekbone.
Athena's eyes widened in surprise, her breath catching at the tender touch that felt so foreign yet oddly comforting, "What....what are you doing?"
Michael's touch lingered on Athena's cheek, his gaze unwavering as he searched her eyes for any sign of recognition of the affection he was demonstrating. Slowly, a flicker of understanding dawned in Athena's expression, her lips parting slightly in realization.
"He doesn't do this, does he?" Michael's voice was barely above a whisper, his thumb tracing a gentle path along her jawline.
Athena's breath hitched at the gesture, a warmth spreading through her that she hadn't felt in years, "No," she admitted softly, her eyes not leaving Michael's.
Michael's touch became more intimate, his fingers trailing down her neck and stopping at the base of her throat, "Does he even kiss you?"
"If you're asking if I had my first kiss, then yeah," Athena said as her face scrunched in confusion.
"That wasn't my question," Michael said, gently tilting her head up to meet his gaze, "Does he ever caress your lips like this?" he whispered as he leaned in closer, his breath mingling with Athena's. With the softest touch, he brushed his lips against hers.
Athena's breath caught in her throat as she blinked and hesitantly pulled away from his face, "Um....." she trailed off, "How does, uh.....Lisa, kiss you?"
Michael tucked some fallen hair behind her ear, "She's very plain, too much tongue, too much force," he chuckled, "Like she's trying to prove something."
"Hmm.....I'm not sure what you mean," Athena frowned, "But I'm sure she means—"
"Can I show you?" Michael asked softly,
