|I Love You|

For the next few days, I was stuck inside Noel's office with nothing to do. After a day, he finally removed the cuffs from my wrist, which were sore from wearing them all night. There were no means of escape because the door to his office was locked from the outside. Furthermore, this room did not have any windows. The only thing was a small vent that I could not fit into.

Noel planned his strategy well, but I did not understand why he wanted me in his office. When he came in to speak with me, I would ignore him. Then he would bring me food because I was hungry, but I refused to eat it. I passed out the last time I drank anything. Who knows what he put in this stuff?

I am sure I looked terrible by this point. It was difficult for me to maintain my appearance without my usual attire. Fortunately, Ace would not have to see me like this. I am sure he would make a snarky remark simply because that is who he was. I definitely missed him and his hazel eyes. My heart has not been the same since he left.

Of course, while I was lost in thought, the sounds of the door unlocking disturbed me. I immediately take a seat and ignore Noel's arrival. He was the worst part of any day, and we were approaching three days. He was not going to say anything worthwhile anyway. The only thing I would want to know is how my father was doing. He was left shaken by everything that had happened.

As I kept my gaze fixed on the wall, the door creaked open, and a groan escaped my lips. Noel's face was the last thing I wanted to see. However, it was not Noel who welcomed me.

As the door closed again, that voice alone caused my eyes to widen. "Hey, Reign," Ace said to me.

My heart felt like it had dropped into the pit of my stomach. When I turned to face him, my body jumped up and ran. Once his arms wrapped around me, I felt safe, as if no one could hurt me anymore. Ace, my knight in shining armor, was here to save me. I could not be more thrilled to see him. I am relieved he was unharmed. Everything about him made me happy, and that had nothing to do with him asking me to be his girlfriend.

Ace helped me back to my feet while his hands cupped my face. The smile he bore was contagious, and my cheeks warmed from his touch. My arms remained wrapped around his torso as we looked each other in the eyes. I could tell he was glad to see me after days of no contact. Noel snatched me up but left my phone behind. Tana must have been worried sick.

He sighed and studied my face. "I am glad you are okay," he cooed. "He was not too rough on you, was he?"

I giggled and shook my head. "No. I mean, my wrists are a little sore from the chains, but that is about it." I smiled.

Ace looked at me as if he did not believe me. "Reign, you do not look well," he said, scanning me over. "Have you eaten?" How did he get to know me so well?

I bit my lip, nervous to respond. "Well..."

"Reign, you must eat." He frowned. "How long has it been?"

I swayed on my feet, not wanting our first conversation to become an argument. "About three days, but can you blame me?" I inquired. "The last time I drank something, I ended up here."

When he realized this, his face softened. We were supposed to have a lovely date, which he had graciously planned. Instead, I was practically poisoned against my will and taken from my home. If he thought anything from Noel was going to end up in my mouth, he was mistaken. I would never trust that man with anything.

Ace understood getting this weird look on his face. The air around us changed as he looked down to the ground. Ace was not an emotional person, so something obviously bothered him. It had been a while since we spoke, and given my situation, it was difficult to rekindle our relationship. Though, it didn't seem like Ace wanted to be how we were.
