|Under Contract|
After crying for hours, I awoke on the cold ground, unable to remember when I had fallen asleep. My heart was aching with heaviness. I have never felt anything like this before, and I am sure I never want to again. Ace abandoned me without properly explaining why, and it was as if my heart was broken pieces of glass.
I could not stay on the floor indefinitely, though it was difficult to get myself together. My body felt so weak from not eating, and my emotional state was a wreck. And, to top it off, I desperately needed to use the restroom. This situation became more aggravating as time passed. I felt trapped without the ability to act freely.
I dragged myself to the door and called out to whoever was standing guard. Someone was out there, and I doubted Noel would leave me unattended if he could not watch me himself.
"Hey you!" I yelled as loudly as I could. "I could use some assistance."
After a few seconds, someone responded. "Reign, you are awake!" They were far too cheerful for it being an early morning.
Their cheerful demeanor assisted me in determining who I was speaking with. "Tyler? Is that you?" He was always positive about everything.
"Yeah, long time no see," he laughed. "You have been sleeping for hours."
There were so many questions on my mind, but my need to use the restroom forced me to put them on hold. I have not heard Tyler's voice in a long time. Even though Hailey and I reconciled, I still preferred Tyler. Granted, we never had a one-on-one conversation. Now was a good time as any.
"Tyler, this may be a lot to ask, but I need to go to the bathroom urgently," I explained. "But, um, I can not walk."
It did not appear to be a problem to him, as I could hear him unlock the door. His eyes widened as he noticed me lying on the ground. He was taken aback by my appearance. It's been a long three days and having Ace break up with me made it all the more worse. My hair was disheveled. My cheeks were stained with tears. I am sure the color has washed out of me by now. That was not my best look.
Instead of commenting, Tyler scooped me up and carried me to the restroom. My head rested against his chest because simply holding it up felt too exhausting. We walked down a long hallway, his footsteps echoing every time. We did not know each other well, so the silence should have been expected. Tyler seemed to want to make an effort, though.
"Have you eaten something?" He asked the same question that Ace had asked me. They were definitely in sync with one another.
I exhaled. "Not exactly," I replied. "I am afraid I will get drugged again," I admitted.
He nodded his head. "Yeah, I probably would not trust Noel either," he admitted. "You still have to eat. What would Ace think?" His voice had lost its glee as he chastised me for being an idiot. This is the first time I have heard him speak so solemnly. His voice was quite soothing.
Nonetheless, the mention of Ace bothered me. He had no idea what was going on or what had happened between us. Otherwise, he would not have mentioned his name to me. He knew Ace and I had shared something special, but I am not sure if he was present to hear our conversation earlier. It was more like he took a stance and I begged him to stay. Regardless, Ace and I were no longer together.
My hand gripped his shirt tightly as I fought back tears that threatened to spill again. "I am sure he would not care," I admitted painfully. "At least, not anymore."
Tyler looked down at me, puzzled, but did not say anything else. We got to the restroom, and he gently let me down. I rushed inside as quickly as possible to use it. Once finished, I looked in the mirror, and it was not a pretty sight. A splash of water on my face did not change anything, but I ran some water through my hair to make it look better. The puffiness in my eyes could not be helped; I am sure it was due to the weeping.

Romance"You like what you see?" He whispered so seductively. I can feel my knees caving as he said that. "N-no," I stuttered. I'm not ever admitting that to him. The chuckle that escaped his lips made things exacerbated. "You sure? 'Cuz I can show you more...
