When Elder Chongshan heard this, his expression turned especially serious. He asked Huang Zhishu sternly. "Speak. Who are Kai and Somi's actual parents? Why did you lie to my son, Pu, and to the entire Manoban family?"
Huang Zhishu was so nervous that her body turned completely stiff. She continued lying through her teeth though. "They... they are the children that a good friend of mine left behind when she passed. I only had good intentions. I didn't mean to lie to the Manoban family..."
Although the truth was nearly exposed, she would not admit to it even if they threatened her with death.
"Enough!" Chongshan waved his hand. "I don't wish to listen to your lies."
He turned to Lisa. "Lisa. Tell me. What exactly is the truth?"
Lisa handed a document envelope to Elder Chongshan. "Two days ago, I had my subordinates lock up Guan Jiping, Huang Zhishu and Kai. Their blood was drawn, along with Somi's, and a DNA test was done. Here are the results. Take a look at them."
Elder Chongshan received the envelope and pulled the document out to read. The results indicated that Kai and Somi were Huang Zhishu's birth children and their biological father was Guan Jiping.
In other words, Guan Jiping and Huang Zhishu, the shameful couple, had given birth to Kai and Somi.
After marrying Manoban Pu, Huang Zhishu actually came up with the cunning scheme to bring Kai and Somi into the Manoban family and for them to become the Manoban family's adopted children!
Chongshan was deeply affected by the results. He turned pale and leaned back weakly against the couch.
Manoban Hong and Ye Yunzhi stood by his side and naturally saw the contents of the documents. Their expressions were just as poor.
"My brother was truly too foolish! He led the wolves straight into our home!" Hong lashed out in anger.
"Back then, we all urged Brother to be more careful and to not bring children with unclear backgrounds into the Manoban home. He assured us firmly that he had confirmed that Kai and Somi's parents were no longer around. He was truly fooled by Huang Zhishu!" Ye Yunzhi was also very upset.
Elder Manoban slowly regained his composure. He tossed the documents in front of Huang Zhishu in anger. "Huang one, this is what you meant when you said Kai and Somi were orphans? You were clearly working with Guan Jiping to fool my son, Pu. You were greedy for the entire Manoban family's glory and wealth! Your family has been sucking our Manoban family's blood for years and fooling us into raising the children you had with another man! How despicable! Thankfully, my son is already dead. Otherwise, he would most likely be angered to death right now!"
Huang Zhishu looked at the DNA results tossed onto the ground and knew there was no point in denying it any further. She was in tears. "Father, I was wrong! Back then, I was truly in love with Pu, but by then I had already given birth to Kai and Somi. As a mother, I couldn't abandon my children. I had no other options but to use this method to conceal the truth and bring them into the Manoban family."
Guan Jiping glanced at Huang Zhishu with a complicated expression.
He truly both loved and hated this woman.
Back then, they had been deeply in love and she had given birth to two children for him. However, after she met Manoban Pu, she grew greedy and kicked him aside without any hesitation.
She begged him to help conceal the truth from Pu and even said that he didn't have the ability to give their children a good future. She claimed that Pu was different, and that he could transform their children into the future Manoban family's young master and young mistress. This was a great fortune they could never hope to attain otherwise.. For the sake of their children, he eventually gave into her plans.
