Kai nodded. He would go along with his mother's suggestion for now.
...
Lisa and Jennie had moved back to the Yu Ting Villa. The helpers were in the midst of moving their things back into the main bedroom.
Jennie laid on a recliner chair next to the pool to sunbathe.
Lisa approached her side and paused behind her to caress her soft hair gently. "My wife, no matter what my parents or grandfather think about having children, don't let them affect you."
She sat up and turned to look at him. "What do you think about this, though?"
He picked her up in his arms and sat down, placing her on his lap. "It's no matter whether we have a child or not. All I need is you. If you like having children, we can also adopt."
She was deeply moved as she embraced him. "Lisa..."
"So don't be troubled by such matters, alright?" He coaxed her gently.
"En." She nodded. "You may think I'm selfish, but even if you'll end up without children, I can't bring myself to let go of your hands."
"My wife, you're not being selfish. You love me." Lisa held her tightly. "I like that you're being this way. I love you and can't live without you."
"Hubby..."
The two of them embraced each other tightly.
Bambam approached them. When he noticed that they were in the middle of an embrace, he felt that this was a choice of poor timing on his part. However, as he had something important to say, he could only speak up. "Boss, we discovered something big."
"Speak." Lisa inhaled the scent on his wife's neck. Although there were outsiders present, he did not seem to wish to let go of the person in his arms.
"This subordinate has been working with Mark to pursue Dark Moon's leader, Xiang Feili. Recently, we found out that she has crossed the border to return to the country. Strangely, we found that she secretly came into contact with a delivery man."
Lisa lifted his brows. "Interesting. Did you investigate his background?"
"We did. It is a man in his fifties. He lives alone and appears obedient at work. He has a few friends and they all seem to have a good impression of him."
Jennie spoke up. "Is it Guan Jiping, who lives on the sixth storey of Guo Mao Building?"
Bambam was astonished. "Madam, how did you know this?"
Jennie's memory was especially good. "Once, Mom..." She glanced at Lisa. "Your mom... She had been out shopping when she passed by Guo Mao Building and was nearly hit by a vase that was thrown down from above. Guan Jiping claimed that he had fought with a friend and tossed it out in a fit of anger."
"During that incident, you were the one who saved my mother." Lisa caressed her long hair. "The Elder sent someone to investigate at the time and confirmed that Guan Jiping was a civilian without any problems. This matter was resolved without any lingering suspicion. At the time, I did not interfere with this matter or pay too much attention to it."
Jennie recalled that Somi had been the one to save Lisa's mother in their past life. "I feel that it's definitely not a coincidence that Guan Jiping nearly hit Mom with that flower vase. The Manoban family cannot possibly have any conflicts with a delivery man. In other words, the only ones who hope for the Manoban family to be unhappy have to be Huang Zhishu and her children. Of course, it could also be the Manoban family's business rivals. However, Mom doesn't interfere with our work and the competitors have no need to target her. In other words, it has to be related to Huang Zhishu's side."
Lisa immediately instructed Bambam. "Did you hear Madam? Investigate this! Don't just look into what he has been doing recently.. Find out what he has been doing in the past fifty years. Don't leave a single thing out!"
