They planned to travel for eight days. Hence, it was important to save as much drinking water as possible.
However, Jennie felt that the bits of salt clinging onto her body was ruining her skin. She would lose her mind if she did not wash it off immediately.
If he were anyone else, he would most definitely have stopped her.
Lisa, however, simply nodded.
She used as little water as she could possibly manage.
She tore the sleeve off of a woman's outfit and used it as a towel. She made sure to cover herself with the umbrella so that Lisa could not watch as she wiped herself thoroughly.
After dampening her skin, she carefully rubbed the dried up salt crystals and grime on her body. She then soaked the 'towel' and wiped herself clean.
She used around a liter of water for this shower.
Finally, she changed into a set of the women's clothes which Lisa had found.
It was clear that these two sets of clothing belonged to Yi Mo's woman.
The men's outfits were probably his.
Lisa did not wipe himself. He directly changed into a clean set of clothes.
Although they needed to survive eight days on sea, they had 'found' many useful items to rely on in Yi Mo's home.
There was an alcohol burner stove and a small bottle of alcohol.
They also found a lot of food, including dried up meat and fresh vegetables.
With the lighter and the alcohol burner, they could cook a simple meal for themselves.
The water tank was sufficient to last them for several days. They also had many buckets which they could use to collect dew water in. Right before daylight, they attach the hatchets and other metal items they had found to these buckets.
They had a larger water storage. The hatchets would also be much more efficient for collecting morning due.
Thus, they were not lacking drinking water any more.
On this journey, they only needed to ensure the safety of their boat. As long as the boat did not overturn, they would not have to suffer as they did before.
In comparison, their current plight was much 'happier'.
On the evening of the third day, it began to rain.
Lisa and Jennie happily took a shower in the rain and then changed into a set of clean clothes.
They also filled up all their storage with rain water.
When they no longer wished to soak in the rain, they would put on the raincoat they had found.
On the seventh day, though they remained in the boundless ocean, every so often, they would see the faint image of an island afar. It was much better compared to when they could not see any land in sight.
However, they did not plan on stopping on the island that they found.
This was because there were no signs that it was inhabited. The island they were heading for was also only one day away.
They had sufficient food and water to last them for the remaining journey.
By the eight day, all their food and water had been used up.
Thankfully, from afar, they could see that land was around half a kilometer away. Furthermore, there were properly built homes on the island.
As they got closer, they realized that the homes here were especially old.
"Thank god, we're finally on land!" As their boat neared the shore, Jennie was nearly in tears of joy.
Lisa embraced her and patted her shoulder lightly. "Let's find somewhere to make a call and have them send someone to come pick us up."
The two of them stepped onto the island and headed into the old town.
Although this was a town, most of the homes were either damaged or old to the point where the paint was peeling and cracking. Some were even old to the point where weeds and vines were growing around them.
Their footsteps were the only noise in this old street. It seemed as though this town was completely uninhabited.
"Is anyone here?" Jennie called out.
The silence around them was uncomfortable. It caused their goosebumps to rise.
Lisa's expression was serious. "Wife, something is amiss here. There isn't a single boat on the shore besides ours in this town."
He glanced at the wall in front of them and found that there were bullet marks.
Jennie also noticed this. "A gun battle must have occurred here!"
All of a sudden, a suffocating feeling of imminent danger overtook them..
