The young man was startled by Lisa's frigid cold tone and took a step back.

Jennie wanted to say that perhaps this man only wanted to give her a polite embrace as a form of greeting.

However, in that case, why didn't he embrace Lisa, who stood in front of her? Thus, she remained silent.

They were seriously outnumbered by this crowd and still needed to request for a boat from them to leave this island.

Furthermore, aside from Lisa's watch, they did not own any other items of value.

They still needed the watch as a compass. Perhaps, they could hand the watch over and request for a compass?

"May I know if any of you can speak Chinese?" Jennie raised her voice to ask. When she did not receive any response, she asked in English. "Can anyone here speak English?"

Lisa also attempted more than ten different languages. But the crowd remained befuddled.

The inhabitants seemed to guess that they were asking something. They spoke incessantly in their local language but to no avail.

Unfortunately, neither of them could not understand it.

The man with a scepter suddenly pointed to himself. He repeated the same two words over and over again.

Jennie repeated his words to ask. "Yi Mo?"

He nodded and gave her a thumbs-up.

She finally got it. "Do you mean to say that your name is Yi Mo?"

She was speaking in Chinese and he appeared to not understand her.

She repeated herself in English and he nodded. He said in broken English, "I know not too much. Only two here."

His pronunciation was thick with the local accent. Jennie had to pay good attention to vaguely understand. He meant that there were only two of them who could speak English here and he was one of them.

Lisa asked. "May I know how we can leave this place?"

"In spring, volunteers come by plane." Yi Mo responded.

Lisa frowned at his response.

It was autumn right now. If they waited till next spring, wouldn't they have to wait for six months? "Is there any other way?"

Yi Mo shook his head.

A tall and voluptuous young woman with an olive skin tone made her way through the crowd. She took the initiative to introduce herself with broken English. "I am He La. Welcome!"

She then opened her arms towards Lisa in an attempt to embrace him.

Lisa's gaze was as sharp as knives. His stern disposition made her pause.

He La did not become angry. Instead, she appeared even more interested. "Stay here for now. Follow me..."

Lisa and Jennie exchanged looks and followed after her.

They did not notice the men watching Jennie as she left. It seemed like they would start to drool anytime.

Under Yi Mo's glare, they had no choice but to look away.

The women, on the other hand, were watching Lisa with heated looks. They appeared excited.

He La made her way across the beach and stepped into the shallow waters. She approached a house and climbed her way up the staircase.

This was an extremely large home. The pillars had been dug deep into the waters and the home was built a meter above the surface.

Every home was built individually with a small boat tied onto its pillars.

The boats closely resembled the ones shaped like a leaf frequently used in ancient times.

Lisa and Jennie climbed up the stairs and headed into the home.

They made their way through the hallway into the living room. The ground was layered with thick, dried up mud. In the center of the room, there was a large, flat rock. A rack made with three metal sticks arranged like a tripod was placed on top of the rock..
