Nanami landed on the cold hard grass. She moaned and rubbed her sour back. It was dark and the stars were shining brightly above her. She sat up and she saw she was on the top of a hill. At the bottom she saw lights and people walking around. All the houses were made of wood and didn't look all that well built. Where was she?

"Mizuki?" She called out to her missing familiar.

"Lady Nanami I am here." Said Mizuki appearing before her. Nanami jumped up.

"How far back in time are we?"

"I took us back 800 years. I have no knowledge if Hikari was even around in this ear as this is before even my time."

"Then we have to fine out...how are we going to do that?"

"I understand that Hikari's name is well known among yokai and the Gods. If we travel to the world 'over Yonda' we should be able to find some information."

"Okay let's go." Said Nanami beginning to walk off.

"Nanami please re consider that move. The world 'over Yonda' is a place were yokai of all kind fester. To do there as a human is dangerous but to go there as a human God is like asking to be eaten."

"I understand that but I have been there before, the second time I met Tomoe he was over there. On the way back I was almost eaten by a Witch but this time will be different. I am stronger than I was back then and I have my white talismans now."

"And I will be by your side. If you are sure you would like to do this then I will come and no monster will lay a hand on you."

"Thank you Misuki, let's go find Hikari..."

Nanami walked through the streets of the world 'over Yonda' with Mizuki following slightly behind her. There were all sort of disgusting looking creatures wondering around. There were stalls set up along the side where many yokai were eating food greedily. It was just as Nanami remembered it. It smelt bad, it was dark and there was a thick low fog that hung in the air, making it hard to see. Where was she? Nanami thought.

"Mizuki we will have to ask someone of Hikari's whereabouts." She said looking around for the least scariest yokai to ask.

"Must be my lucky day. Finding a human God in a place like this." Said a yokai with several eyes appearing from behind Nanami. She stepped back in fear and Mizuki came closer to protect her.

"I think I will take that from you." Said another appearing out of the shadows.

"Back off I saw her first, she's mine." Said the first yokai.

"Actually I would like to take this one." Said a male voice from behind Nanami and Mizuki. All four turned to see the man that had spoken. He was clearly yoaki but he was like Hikari and Tomoe. Human looking with parts of an animal. He was handsome, tall with long black hair that was tided back in a loose bobble. He had long nails like most yokai and his eyes looked like there contained a blazing fire within them. He wore a simply black kimono and attacked to his back were the folded up wings of a black dragon. Next to him stood a woman Nanami recognised. She had long green hair, green eyes, wedded fingers and feet, gills coming off each side of her face and wearing a beautiful blue kimono with seaweed like patterns on it. Meriss, Nanami said in her head. If that was Merissa then it meant that the man she looked to with a love sick look must be...

"M-Mr Ryuu..." Said the yokai backing up in fear.

"We are terribly sorry Sir. We did not know that this human was yours." Ryuu smiled at them without amusement.

"Oh she isn't mine I just enjoy taking things from those who are to weak to stand up to me. It's rather amusing to see your terrified looks but now that fun is over and I bid the two of you goodbye." He said as the two erupted into flames. Their screams were loud, a few yokai turned to see what has happening but no one stopped to try and help. Soon the flames disappeared and all that was left where burnt ashes that blew away in the wind. Mizuki stepped in front of Nanami protectively.

"I will not let you harm Lady Nanami." He said.

"Harm her? Why would I wish to do such a thing?"

"You mean to say a yokai like you does not wish to eat my mistress?" Said Mizuki like he didn't believe it.

"Of course not. I have already had dinner for this evening. Beside I do not make it a habit to kill everyone in sight."

"Then you kill those two?" Said Nanami moving to the side so that she could see Ryuu.

"Those two were the reason for my annoyance earlier this evening."

"Just because they annoyed you doesn't mean they deserve to die." Ryuu looked shocked at the fact that she had spoken so boldly to him. Merissa hissed at Nanami.

"Do not speak you my love in such a way human, you have no right."

"Merissa I do not need you to fight my battles for me!" Ryuu said in a raised voice. He was clearly annoyed with her. Nanami's mind travelled back to the time she and Hikari met Merissa in the cave by the beach. Hikari had said that Ryuu had never liked her and Nanami could see that that statement was no lie. Merissa smiled at him like a school girl despite the fact she had been shouted at and returned to being silent. "Perhaps you are right human God. Maybe they didn't deserve to die but I did just save you from being eaten would a thank you not be in order?"

"No, I did not need your help. My familair and I had the situation under complete control." She said standing up for herself.

"I see now judging from your clothes you have come from afar, may I ask what you purpose here is?"

"We came to find someone called Hikari." Ryuu's eyes widened and he placed a hand in his lips telling her to say no more.

"You must not use that name so carelessly. There are many here that are the enemies of such a person and would kill you if they thought you were a friend. On the other hand her name alone os enough to make yokai cower in fear."

"Is she not one of your enemies?" Asked Mizuki.

"I have never met her. If I have no reason to hate or dislike someone I will leave them be. For now the arctic fox remains neither enemy nor ally in my eyes." Nanami sighed inwardly. They had come back to far. Ryuu had not even met yet never mind fallen in love. They needed to go further forward.

"We have to go." She said and Mizuki nodded knowing what she meant.

"Where will you go?" Said Ryuu.

"To find her." Said Nanami not wanting to tell him the truth.

"It is a rather dangerous task you set out to do. You realise that she may just simply kill you on the spot but if you are set on finding her there are rumours going around that she is in the South."

"The South, right got it." Nanami said walking away.

"Wait human God I never got a name." Ryuu called after her. Nanami looked back at him over her shoulder

"It's Nanami and this is my familiar Mizuki. It was nice to meet you and thank you for all your help." She said with a smile before turning back around and walking into the distance with Mizuki following close behind.

"Nanami...well good luck to you both..." Said Ryuu.
