(a/n: ik im suddenly uploading a lot I'm just using the time that I have right now + I'm making up for those 9 whole months that I didn't upload at all. 😭 we're slowly itching towards the end of this ff, I'm 90% sure it's gonna end before 55 chapters. (My original plan was 50 chapters but I can't fit that in anymore wtv 🙁))

"Good news. It's not broken." Kakucho said to y/n with a smile.

"I'm glad. It still hurts, though..." she muttered.

"Mhm, I know. It looks pretty painful."

He was still carefully cleaning up some dried blood from her nose, carefully of course so he wouldn't hurt her.

After Kakucho was done treating y/n's nose, the silence was pretty awkward for a bit.

Until y/n reminded herself once again how cruel of a person Sanzu really was.

"Can I ask you something?"

Kakuchos brows raised a tad bit, looking at her in curiosity.

"Mhm. Go ahead."

"You and Sanzu... you're not exactly friends, are you?"

Kakucho hesitated for about two seconds only before he shook his head with a sigh.

"No." He groaned quietly even, "could never stand him. Even when we were younger. Even less now. He got my friend killed, and he's pretty much an asshole in general."

"Kakucho."

Y/n suddenly looked at him with a very serious expression.

"You mentioned that Bonten was already done for. You have no reason to be loyal to Sanzu, right?"

Mai made sure to put a little bit of fear into her eyes, trying to gaslight him into having a little bit of pity for her, to make sure nothing would go wrong.

Kakucho nodded.

"Speak. What's in your mind?"

"He's horrible to me." Y/n spat out. "He's always been. I just realised it too late. But... as you know, there's no way to break up with him. He'd just say no."

"Hm? Don't tell me you're speaking from experience?" Kakucho looked a bit shocked.

"I did try to break up with him before. Didn't work. He's totally insane, mentally ill! I'm so scared of him, Kakucho!" Y/n started to force tears into her eyes, she could see by the way Kakucho was looking at her that he definitely wasn't on Sanzu's side at all.

"I don't know what to do. All my friends are dead now. I have no one I can talk to. They all wouldn't give a shit! You're the only one I trust in there, Kakucho!" Suddenly, she started to sob.

"Y-y/n..." he seemed overwhelmed with the situation.

Y/n threw her face into his chest as she started to sob.
